Sour red cherries, wild strawberry, horse shit, mushrooms. Wild acidity. Years ahead of it. Fresh. Vital. — 9 years ago
Excellent drinking now will only get better wait a few years. — 9 years ago
Lots of delicious red fruit and very smooth. Loved it. — 10 years ago
Crazy awesome. Tons of black pepper, smoke, tobacco and bacon fat. Luscious dark fruits. Very fruit forward palate. Waaaaaay too young. — 10 years ago
Ooh la la! Fantastic crisp apple-pear fruit laced with a streak of minerality and beautiful richness and length. Lovely now and sould last another 5+ years. — 10 years ago
Red blend from Sonoma at The Vine! — 10 years ago
Still tight and tannic, big fruit bomb in the mouth. Opens nicely, nose is reserved with dark fruit and pencil shavings. — 11 years ago
For all those that love to say, "this California Chardonnay is Burgundian," can check out White Rock. — 12 years ago
Not my favorite Arietta. Tons of vanilla sort of overwhelms the fruit on the palate. Great nose, though. A bit hot on the finish. — 6 years ago
Really nice. Mostly cab. Good structure and fruit and earth. Generous and tasty! — 7 years ago
Deep ruby coloration. On the nose, florals, minerals, strong strawberry, raspberry and cherry. On the palate, very fruit forward, with strawberry dominating, cherry and raspberry as well. Oak, leather, chocolate and more strawberry on a long finish. Moderate and well balanced tannins. Medium body and opened up to a surprisingly rich mouthfeel and great, drinkable wine. — 8 years ago
Dark blue fruit, mocha, and spice on a taut frame that spins out to a long minerally finish. This should improve considerably with a few more years of bottle age. — 9 years ago
Just F'n fun — 10 years ago
When compared side by side with Liparita's less expensive Rutherford Cab release, V Block can be likened to a parent's favorite offspring. Although both wines may share similar genetic material and upbringing, V Block has gained more dimension and self confidence through increased care and attention from infancy. #ridiculous :p — 10 years ago
Initially dry, but with a fruity nose. Expected to have a full flavor and finish as the bottle nears the end. — 12 years ago
Very oaky — 13 years ago
Limestone and flint, some fresh turned earth. It opens with tannins, black peppercorns, purple plum skin, and ends with light red fruit, possibly pomegranate. — 6 years ago
Light, small spice, almost an effervescence. Delicious and versatile — 7 years ago
Delicious! — 8 years ago
Beautiful black currant aroma and velvety mouthfeel. Love it! — 9 years ago
Minty. Black currant. Super smooth. Very far from a standard Shiraz glop bomb. Surprisingly fresh and lively at 13 years old. — 9 years ago
Simple Merlot with smooth taste — 10 years ago

14 drinking near peak of mature brightness and silky tannins - really balanced front to back...I really love Melville! I think it’s the most underrated winery in the US likely! Really expressive and nice pure fruit! — 6 years ago
