A.P. Birks Clare Valley Malbec 2011

Off-vintage but tasty. A bit of a mouldy nose, eucaliptus, pine, herbs, blackcurrants and blueberries. Really strong presence of a pencil shaves note. Not as heavy and concentrate as it is. — 8 years ago

Clare Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2014

Plenty of potential here. Savoury, slightly peppery nose, yet silky, fruit-driven flavours. Slightly chalky in the mouth but generally fresh and vibrant. — 9 years ago

Leasingham

Bin 7 Riesling 2003

Famous #australian #riesling from the #clarevalley made by #accolade company #leasingham . From the hot season of #2003 though mot looking shabby; pale gold yes; spice and restraint not strong kero or honey; backward a little; evolving fruit; blessed by screwcap; 12.5%. — 9 years ago

Clare Valley Shiraz

2011 - dark berries jump out of the glass, with subtle notes of cola on closer inspection. Pepper and dark berries with a touch of cherry on the palate, lovely acidity in the back half and a lovely long finish and sultry tannin. Beautiful wine from a spectacular terroir. — 10 years ago

Riesling 2003

Just a hint of kerosene on the nose, her palest of apple fruits and a touch of acidity. This has aged very well and with some good weight in the mouth, a fine example of mature Aussie Riesling. — 10 years ago

Wendouree

Clare Valley Cabernet Malbec 2001

Powerful aromas and flavours with grainy savoury tannins. These Wendouree Reds are built to last and I am starting to realise that they are best after 15 years. Certainly another 10 years in this one. Very Australian with Eucalypt/Menthol and earthy minerality - more savoury than fruit driven - not surprising at 17 years of age. — 7 years ago

Wakefield

Clare Valley Shiraz 2014

My 200th wine!!

I probably spent a bit too long thinking about which wine to choose, having noticed the night prior that I was at 199. But then this bottle struck me and that was that! About a year ago, I had my dad "import" this from Canada because it seems Wakefield is hard to get in the US. It was one of the first wines I ever remember buying and then saying - i am going to make a conscious effort to buy more. So I felt this would be a good anniversary wine to see how far I've come, as there have been at least 200 cuvées since I started on here

I'm glad to say that I still think this is a very good wine. The nose opens with sweet cedar and cherry. It's fairly dark purple but still opaque. On the palate there are the typical notes of dark blue fruits. It has fairly soft tannins and a moderate finish. The
#qpr is high!

With all that said - I'd like to thank all the folks that I follow on Delectable. I've learned a lot from each of you and I appreciate reading your thoughts and seeing what you're drinking.
