Great Texas wine! — 7 years ago
OK, so the first one of the new vintage went down tonight! And, dare I say that I think that this one is going to hold just as well as the 2015. I still need to take one of these to the lockup. This seems to be a more acidic Viognier than the 2015. Mouthfeel on entry is thicker than the wine evolves to be. First is a lot of mango and a hint of kiwi, and ends with more acidic citrus notes with a hint of honeysuckle. Bought slightly more of this than the Roussanne. Haven't had any of that yet, but soon! — 8 years ago
2016 Hensell Rose by Kuhlman. New release. Lots of bright acidity. Young strawberry, some watermelmon, citrus, and minerality, in the middle and finish. Crisp. Damn fine for a day like today. Winemaker from Provence France. 100% Mourvedre Rose, and absolutely beautiful wine for a day like today. — 8 years ago
Holy shit that was good! I usually try to describe the fruit notes and sweetness and tannins...this review does not need that . Inwood is a stand out Texas vintner. Try it. Do it. You won't be disappointed. — 8 years ago

This high plains Roussanne blew me away - completely surprised. I'm certainly going to seek it out, perhaps my favorite Texas white to date. — 10 years ago
Really nice, a great wine very refreshing and balanced!!

This is outstanding. One of the best Texas red wines I've had. Blackberry, cocoa powder, tobacco, violets, with a little briar that isn't off putting. Smooth tannin structure. — 11 years ago
Intensive floral & exotic fruit nose. Intensive, ripe, delicately mineral. Long and intensive finish. 88p — 11 years ago
My last of 3 rosés from Ron Yates winery (Cinsault, Grenache, Sangiovese). Another really nice TX rosé that I think is probably one of my favorites I’ve had from TX.
This and the Cinsault are tied in score for me, both being quite enjoyable. The Cinsault was a bit more “soft” and fleshy fruit skin driven. This Sangiovese is more full fruit on nose and palate. Lots of strawberry...strawberry cream, strawberry pie (I pick up even a note of crust/yeast) and peach skin. Really nice acidity (probably a tad less than the Grenache). Sweet nectar and agave. Stone fruit. Had the most “going on” than the others. Another nice one, @Ron Yates . — 7 years ago
I have posted the 2015, but not this one (to my knowledge). Whereas 2015 is definitely more strawberry crush and red fruited in general, this 2016 is more watermelon, pink grapefruit, and mango on the front. The wine is very acidic on the front. The wine is of medium weight with sharp acid. There is a little less fruit here than the 2015 overall. The wine is still rather solid to the finish with the watermelon and mango notes, some kiwi here as well. I think this has very good aging potential. I think the 2016 Rose wines from the TX Hill Country are all less strawberry on a whole. But all, with exception to one thus far, are pretty damn delicious. — 8 years ago
Not usually a white fan, this was fabulous.

100% Texas grapes! Big jammy delicious red blend. Delicious terroir w Graham's local cabrito purple potato tostones and grilled Texas beef from @44Farms #44Farms — 9 years ago
16.5/20 — 10 years ago
Who knew? Texas! 80 Tempranillo, 10 Mourvèdre, 10 cab. Perfect with pizza. — 11 years ago

Crisp, citrusy, green apple jolly rancher. First enjoyed with Matthew on a spontaneous Fredericksburg visit during Aisha's wedding weekend, then returned on our anniversary and became wine club members :) — 11 years ago
