A cheery mix of coconut, unripe pineapple, and tannins. I love this Monterey wine. It reminds me of the old days, of a college party with music, booze, frat guys, and Malibu Rum. — 8 years ago
Rediculously delicious bottle of pinot. And yes if Gary's name is on it, I buy it. Family owned Star market in Salinas has the best selection of local wine. Shared it with my girl Patrice and the waiter at our local in Malibu — 9 years ago
What a steal! $7.99 at Trader Joe's and it's the embodiment of a Marlborough Sav Blanc - inexpensive, dry, herbal and minerally — 9 years ago
I'm an IPA guy, but this is a great alternative. Full bodied, but not the overwhelming taste of a stout. Great crossover for an IPA drinker as it has just a bit of hoppy bite to satisfy just about anyone. — 10 years ago
Very citrusy, smooth with a touch of bitterness. One of the best in its price range. — 10 years ago
1990 DRC Grand Echezaux Bergundy. First red wine of the night at Nobu Malibu w K, R&M, McC, Judy. Awesome. — 10 years ago

Dark, dark ruby rich wine from Republic of Georgia — 11 years ago
Seriously, Malibu. Do you have to use an inch of wax to seal every bottle? You're really making me work for this one. Ripe black cherry and baking spice entices the nose. Young bright and fun on the palate. It's definitely equipped for aging across the decade. Just have a machete handy to bust through that wax. Paired tonight's offering with a massive rare tomahawk steak. Nom nom. — 7 years ago
One of the best dark beers i have ever met. — 8 years ago
Super interesting. Part of a small, natural wine seminar wth Abe Schoener. Crystal clear but orange and earthy with an ever so slight yeasty quality to it. — 8 years ago
Just got into Napa from a long day of traveling. Starting in Malibu for India's MBA graduation to Napa for celebrations! We decided to grab a heavy varietal and stick with Napa. This wine was a deep and dark ruby red, actually almost purplish black that completely coated the glass. Very interesting nose that was a little tight to start. Finally opened up over the next hour with some blackberries and freshly broken branches. Started with some softer dark fruits, but also coated with thick blackberries. Not overly sweet at all. Moderate tannins (7/10) and moderate plus body. Some red berries with their bright acidity near the finish. Moderate plus finish. Can see this becoming more integrated with time. Drink till 2022. 89+ — 9 years ago
very good Czech wine but not a lot of complexity — 9 years ago
From a little research, it appears this bottle is actually a grape that's a cross between Cabernet Franc and Zweigelt (i know, be still your beating heart). It was perfect with the Slovak food at the Riverside Restaurant in the Chicago suburbs. The wine featured a berry forward nose, with deep earth notes underneath, a balanced tannin to acid structure, and a touch of herbaceousness. — 10 years ago
Great acid and medium length, perhaps mission a touch of fruit in the palate and not overly pronounced on the nose — 10 years ago
One of my go-to Californian IPAs. Hoppy with high alcohol (7.5%), but extremely balanced, refreshing with great depth of flavour. — 10 years ago
Awesome meritage blend. One of Malibu's best wines — 11 years ago
Milan Nestarec Youngster Pinot Grigio 2017. Such an interesting wine! A lot of lime (as the label might convey), orange, roundness but still light bodied. A lot of acidity and minerality. Tastes like limestone and key west via a czech’s interpretation. — 7 years ago
Interesting Czech wine. Great surprise and good for discussion. Very light, almost like a white wine. Fruity. Hint of sweetness, low/no tanin — 7 years ago
Amazing, best White of the summer for me! — 8 years ago
Yet another Racer IPA. I'm running out of stuff to say... — 9 years ago

Still one of the best after all the years. Most Pilsner Lager beers could take a lesson. — 10 years ago
One of the best Chardonnay for the. I could buy a case for fun summer day of this well balanced nose and flavor wine. — 10 years ago
Clay clay clay, awesome funkiness, bubbles and more clay. Go republic of Georgia!!! — 10 years ago
Good, simple could be a bit more complex. Flakes on bottom of this and the 09 too. Liked this more than 09 tho maybe this had more time to breathe. — 11 years ago

Not unpleasant but notes of paint on the nose, sweet palate, turns into pear and apricot over a long finish. Acidity provides a nice balance. — 6 years ago
