Take a dill pickle from a good deli and bash it around in a well-made humidor then set that whole affair in front of a bowl of blackberry conserves. Et voila! Initial impressions. With air, this sheds the dill and cedar and replaces it with wintergreen. Overall a beautiful expression of a difficult and contentious variety. Another 4th Friday for the books! What a variety this month!

Very unique WA state wine. Bottle decanted for 6 hours and even after letting it sit in my glass for a good while, this puppy was still tightly knit. Lots of fruit here but it avoids being jammy. Bold black and red fruits and even some grapefruit. There was a spice/pepper note on the finish. — 8 years ago

This wine is very racy and succulent! Rich, beautiful red fruits, maraschino cherry(not the cheep-o cherries at your local dive bar..true maraschino cherries), mocha, allspice, vanilla bean, smooth tannins, medium plus body, and a very nice lingering finish! Overall, a fantastic red blend from Alexander Valley! I give this a 92! Drinks similar to their Dry Creek single vineyard cab without the heavier backbone of the cab! — 10 years ago
