My favorite California Cab producer. Had the honor of pouring beside him in NYC, and touring his vineyard with Rebecca just before he passed. The closest thing to 1970's best cabs and incredible value. 2006 is lush full of everything you could hope for, earth, blackberry, leather, and a hint of smoke. A little hint of almost cognac on the finish, smooth and balanced finish. Acid still great and plenty of age left. Glad I have a lot more to enjoy — 9 years ago

Lyndon: " smells like port". Sweet at the start, not very full bodied, slightly tannic aftertaste, with oaky notes at the end. Complex and well balanced, watery finish not too unpleasant. Mesmerizing nose of rich, slightly ripe red and black fruits that are unmistakably Napa, licorice, prune, smoked meat, black tea, dark chocolate, dried mushroom, cigar box, all tightly knit together. The palate was equally impressive with warm soft texture and complex layer. The full body is self-assured with power and grace. Velvety tannins still has baby teeth. And the lightly spiced and sweet finish lasts for minutes.
A complete wine at 15 years, but will reach perfection in another 5-10 years. — 6 years ago
