Yet another splendid Sancerre! This one isn't as deeply marked by flinty flavor as I typically like, but it makes up for this with a terrific and balanced grapefruit/gooseberry core. 2004 vintage. Dom Ruinart. Blanc de Blancs. With Freddy Panaiotos. Pale lemon. Chardonnay profile - lemon, grapefruit, fresh fruit. On the palate, rich and slightly musty wood and earthy. Good bubbles. Nice finish and lemony length that goes on for a minute or so. However I think this bottle is not showing well. — 11 years ago
