Makes the best pork chops!! Great wine tasting experience. — 10 years ago
Very good red that Glenn & I both really like. Tasted at Bellmont & purchased there. — 10 years ago
I hesitate to call a wine feisty or exuberant but... This one is. It's not overpowering but is a big wine with big Zinfandel flavours. I'm not entirely sure how this differs from pervious raven's I've had and frankly, I was on my second bottle, which leaves a muted palate... Nonetheless most enjoyable.

"The Baby Amarone" Italian wine. Unique, fragrant, smooth. Glenn & I both really liked. Was introduced to us by the waiter at Antico Posto. $28 half bottle. Amarone wines are from grapes that are picked 1 mi out of the year, fermented twice, & is an expensive wine. — 11 years ago

Another good dry red. Cherry flavor and smoky, really smoky compared to the other reds. — 11 years ago
Appropriate with the weather change, and a great addition to date night! — 12 years ago

I think the whites from Alban are much overlooked and are wines that generally will benefit from aging.
This 2013 is no exception however it might hit its peak sooner than the 2010/12 vintages and to my palate is a bit less "CA Rousanne-like" than I usually see from John/Glenn.
Still a BIG fan!!

Glenn brought this from birthday wine Steve bought. Very nice. — 10 years ago
Fantastic viognier from John Alban (or Glenn Skrabanik - not sure whi's doing most of the winemaking legwork these days). Great aromatics (honeysuckle?), medium balance, and a nice finish. Not the best incarnation of their viognier - might need another year or two to fill in - but is still a really enjoyable wine. — 10 years ago

Not too dry. But doesn't have a sweet front. Refreshing for a red. — 11 years ago
Glenn & I both really like. Serve at room temp — 12 years ago
Gorgeous. Just fine combo of funk and fineness and line and length like a great Glenn McGrath over with a bit of Damien Flemings out swing to keep the batsman guessing. Tops — 9 years ago
One of my favs — 9 years ago
Why the fuck can't I edit this!? Blueberries, violets, earthy edge. Yummy. Brambly Zinfandel and Rioja notes. Figs. Leather. Served by Glenn from Sydney. — 10 years ago

The wine pours a medium gold color with promising honeysuckle, baked apple, melon, and baking spice aromas. On the palate it's full bodied for a wine that sees no ML. It's harmonious with bright acidity and a hint of tannins that add to its delightful structure. It shows baked white peach and apple, melon, a bit of nectarine and baking spice flavors with a lingering finish. This is a great winter white! The fruit was sourced from the Bonofiglio Vineyard, owned by Glenn McGourty and his two brothers. It's a seven-acre organically farmed vineyard is located five miles north of the town of Hopland. It was aged in neutral French oak for five months with lees contact and stirred once a month to increase mouthfeel. 14.2% abv — 8 years ago
