We all have that experience that we would love to undergo again, sans the memory, afresh: my first taste of peaty Scotch; the magnificent atmosphere of a Souls game; one’s first orgasm with a loved one; or, encountering a truly great, mature, Burgundy. Wipe the slate clean, let us start again; I’m sure that’s how we all clamor. But all that’s left is to forge on, in search of higher highs and the brighter lights. Nose: starts off tight, with dried, tart raspberries and strawberries, opens up to earth, oak, vanilla later, without overwhelming the fruit. Even a bit of perfumed peaches. Palate: layered light plums, juicy mid-ripe strawberries, gentle and super-silky tannins, extremely luscious mouthfeel. Finish: long, notes of stewed tea, recurrent umami and minerals. The 2012 Chambolle Musigny from #DomaineChristianClerget is really a very pretty wine. It's no wonder that they say the most elegant reds on the #Cotedesnuits are from #chambollemusigny . The wine will only improve with another few years but it was really pretty. It was elegant and aromas of dried raspberry ~ not even. Very succinct and delicate. I get #DarjeelingTea on some great Burgs and off this one too. But it is young and I find too many people make reports on such wines without understanding what the taste profile will be like in 5 years time. 100% mencia , Raoul Perez is the wine maker. French oak on the nose but well integrated on the pallets with lush blackberry cobbler and a hint of caramel. Very fruit forward but has just the right amount of tannin to hold it together. Great bottle. If you can find it, get it. You won't be dissatisfied . — 9 years ago
