Amazing color. Virtually pinot-like in its translucent crimson ruby tint. Thick sexy legs. Nose has a sweet cola effervescent quality and a feeling of walking along a stony river after a rainstorm. Mouthfeel is dynamic. Very concentrated at the center. Tannins are woody and fine. Solid core of fruit on the finish. TransZindent wine. No joke. — 9 years ago

These Spätlese trocken Rieslings continue to blow my mind. I could smell this all day and be happy without ever taking a sip. Sweet petrol and flowers galore. Comparable to walking into a blooming garden after a rainstorm. Nose gives you a million and one reasons to believe it will be sweet, and then the palate is bone crushing dry. Going from sweet, canned stone fruit on the nose to underripe fruit on the palate. Crisp and firm - almost interrupting dry acidity, palate gives you green apple, pear, melon rind and citrus peel. Almost all floral elements completely extinguished. I can't get over these wines. — 9 years ago
Candied red fruits, red cherries, red plums, currant, slight hint of dried strawberry and fresh blueberries. Faint woodsy musk like that of a wet forest floor after a cool rainstorm and the scent of dried leaves. Great acidity hinting on fresh dark apple notes. Continues to drink more elegant as it opens up, losing its tight edge. — 9 years ago
A mild sourness and slight funk (reminds me of the woods after a rainstorm) that lies underneath floral notes--like walking through the woods under a crown of daisies. — 10 years ago
