This is a worthy bottle that brings a little something different to the table. Pretty pale copper color. A subtle yet assertive nose of peach, apricot and wet stone. The flavor is reminiscent of watermelon rind and Rainer Cherry and really attacks the sides of the tongue with its prickly acidity. There's some barrel influence in there too which really comes out on the nutty finish. All in all a fun talking piece that could pair well with a variety of seafood or salads or just quench the thirst on a sunny summer afternoon. — 9 years ago

A nice surprise out of Sicily. Strawberries, Rainer & bing cherries, just a touch of bready/yeasty, refined chalkiness and a rhubarb, pomegranate fruit finish. — 10 years ago
Happy Birthday Colton! Was not very impressed by this in the tasting room back in 2013, but we bought it anyway because it had just gone #2 on the Spectator top 100. Three years later and I am glad we picked it up!! Pretty ruby color in the glass. Silky smooth, with a light mouth feel and good acid. Classic Pinot red fruits, especially strawberry and Rainer cherry. Actually preferred it served a little cool. — 10 years ago
Fat and wolly with buttered popcorn, pineapple core and butterscotch all wrapped around a core of racy acidity. — 11 years ago
Cork was pushing up and this needed to be opened. Gorgeous nose. So many rocks. Petrol, lemon, lime zest, mineral and even a hint of rainer cherries. Really aromatic and stunning. Palate is super mineral and dense and opulent (this is 06) with nice texture and freshness. Good acids and nice citrus fruits on the long finish. Really Long. Excellent and at its apogee. — 8 years ago
Like the salted margarita of wines, in an awesome way. Salty and bitter-lemony. Keeps you coming back — 9 years ago
One of my favourites. Ever. — 10 years ago
Pale burgundy color. All cherry - sour, Bing, Rainer, and earth on the nose. Restrained cherry fruit, minerality and earth, and a lingering finish. Would have guessed Gevrey burgundy. Very good. Interesting contrast to Red Car from last night. — 10 years ago

Famed 2013! Perfect for Friday night. Very elegant and aromatic on the nose. Tastes of raspberries and pomegranate, light and pleasant smokiness, ripe Rainer cherry. Delicious — 9 years ago
Super quaffable. Rainer cherries and bright acidity. Yummy table wine brought by A Tribute to Grace's Grenache maven Angela Osborne. — 9 years ago
Ripe nose with apricot and red apple fruit supported by lovely mineral spice. Focused palate with stone fruit and saline minerality. Fun and showing nice maturity. — 9 years ago
Strawberry, Rainer cherries, tart, great with food — 9 years ago

Bill Bradley straight killing it! Blueberry cedar, cherry compote (Rainer) with a aged light red Rainer cherry acidity it's pure loveliness! It stands up against lightly seasoned sous vide ribeye. Silky but your pursuit of the subtleties will give way to nice tannic grip, but it shows some velvet. Melts the fat and sticks around to shake your hand after. — 10 years ago
Crisp, delightful — 11 years ago
Opens up nicely. Rainer cherries, powdery violets, olives, & juiciness. Nice, nice! — 11 years ago

On the nose, perfumed, candied fruits of strawberries, watermelon, cherries & Rainer cherries. Ballpark chewing gum, soft, powdery chalkiness and pink rose petals. Ballpark chewing gum, roses petals and really like the soft, delicate, powdery chalkiness and minerality. Acidity is round, soft and mouthwatering. The long finish is round, fresh and delicious. The 2016 yield was about 1/2 of normal. Photos of; the Marasanny vineyard being harvested, outside shot of the Domaine & their stainless tanks in the the cellar as well as Cyril. Producer history and notes...Domaine Charles Audoin lies in the village of Marsannay-la-Côte. Descended from a long line of wine growers passing down from father to son, Charles Audoin took over the family property in 1972 with his wife Marie-Françoise, an oenologist by training. Located within the commune of Marsannay-la-Côte. Domaine Charles Audoin began with only three hectares but the estate has grown to nearly 35 acres with a diversity of soils. After taking over his father’s five acres of vineyards, Charles Audoin and wife Marie-Françoise developed the estate through the restoration and the purchase of new lots. Their vines are over 45 years of age on average and have a south-eastern orientation. Cyril prefers lower yields and has less intensive extraction for softer and more elegant wines. Happy Bastille everyone!
