This is quite a complex wine. Give it some time to breathe and it will reward you for that. Doesn't need any more time to age, if anything drink it soon. I didn't have another to compare it to, but it may be just past it's prime. Primary flavours: Tobacco, stewed plum, dried sour cherry. Secondaries: leather, smoke, white pepper, vanilla. Tertiaries: green capsicum, spearmint. Full body, long finish, very intense, very complex, many levels of expression.

This is embarrassing - I admit I'm not a big Port fan! But I now realise I adore the Tawny variety! Right that's out of the way, this is seriously good stuff, pronounced, woody, toffeed, caramel, dried fruits and nutty, with the addition of dried figs and raisins coming forth on the palate. Light, dry and joyfully effervescent. More yellow colored than average. This Vinho Verde is almost dry Riesling like on its initial attack. Soft petroleum, racy acidity, and driven by its minerality, citrus blossoms, and crisp green apple notes. The finish is clean and packed with Asian pears. — 10 years ago

Sitting on the lanai in Grand Cayman sipping the wine 2012 one of the more reasonable wines for sale here. Going down very easy lightly peppered with plum and blueberry fruit taste possibly coffee. The color is dark and the aroma is as it tastes with pepper and dark fruit. — 9 years ago
