Thought I already rated this one, but...drinking. A hazy lil number with a fluffy quilt on top sewn from grapefruit pith. Bright, fresh, tangerine and grapefruit nose, with candied grapefruit peel, lime kefir, and zippy lime zest. Smells like summer! Citrus tangy on the palate as well, with ruby grapefruit deconstruction separating peel from pulp and pith, and cosmic zest shimmering like stardust. Quince, lime slices, lemon with a touch of sugar, dried orange, dried mango, white pepper and edible flower or snap pea, green banana turn to clean fruit married to a bitter finish. Really great beer, with acids calling out salivary catalysts, for a mouth coating, lip smacking interplay. This has such an elegant balance, it seems like something squeezed straight out of the jungle. .

I was told Clouet only makes Blanc de Blanc on exceptional years, and 2002 was one of the best ever. (Otherwise their wines are all BdNoir. Huh, cool!) Chardonnay dreaming. Pillowy scents slipping between buttered popcorn, macaroons, brioche toast, and even those circus peanuts candies. Man, I feel like I’m floating in this. Within that ether, some bits of dried pineapple float around with me, complete enough I feel like I can swim up and take a bite. That the pineapple characteristic tastes dried has gotta be a component of its age. I can get lost in the aromatic churn of this yeast-yeast-yeast-fruit game, but that’s not all I came here for. There’s a party that your tongue is hosting and beautiful throngs are knocking. Hello Apple. Hello Lemon, you are fresh very ripe. Why, hello Chamomile. I didn’t expect to see you here. You are lovely! Pineapple you’ve put on some weight! Despite the wine’s age, there’s still a freshness, of just-pressed cider apples that hangs out on the tongue, laying lazy like beautiful ropey, ornate quilt, once the pineapple and peanut party passes on. — 7 years ago

Fantastic & well structured Red blend - These guys are good! Carries the Quilt name well with a hearty red fruit jam up front and a bold, well structured finish. Solid glass: buy a second bottle! — 2 years ago
2017 opened on in Dec 2019. Leather, lavender, and hint of mint on the nose. A dash of cassis on the front of the palate which zips right past and gives way to a velvety tannic structure. And it’s the tannic structure that holds this quilt of a wine together all the way to the end. Mid-palate: High notes of eucalyptus and calcaire along side deeper earthy notes, all mediated by those red velvet tannins in the background. And as I begin to swallow I can taste the fruit again at the end (!) — ripe cherries? I think: “how is this possible?” This wine is dense and chewy, but also surprisingly light because of all those high counter-notes, And it has an extremely longgggg finish. My mouth is still tingling minutes after drinking this wine, and it’s asking, “what just happened?” This vintage is 70 percent Syrah, 20 percent Mourvèdre, and 10 percent Grenache. This is a brilliant wine! — 5 years ago

Where to start. So Chablis and like none I've had before. Think deep aromas of luscious fruit protected by a wooly muting quilt of smoke and gunpowder. Chablis blanket effect.
Underneath is the meat of the fruit - creamed bananas, papaya, chamomile and metallic copper. Flavors of vanilla and almond and peach apricot. An absolute textural sensation. — 3 years ago
A full bodied Pinot, it’s got a syrupy thickness, but not in an overbearing ”zin” way. It’s got black cherry juice and creamy raspberry notes. If you want earthy or mineral notes this is not the PN you want. While you know it’s a “Wagner” wine, it’s not in your face about it like Schooner, Quilt, or Caymus-Grand Durif. It’s a bit ($40+) pricey, but worth it! — 7 years ago
Knife-throwing act where the knives are carved from peppercorns and the target board is a quilt of cherries. Beautiful Italian women casually offer themselves as targets, laughing and sipping espresso. — 9 years ago
Dawn the Santa hat, pull up a quilt crack open some Toni Morrison and sniff and snip this dirty, beautiful Chianti. Herbal, animal, juicy dark fruit. Cozy, brainy indulgence. — 11 years ago
