Oenomaniacs don't have pearly gates, we have Domaine de la Romanee Conti La Tache 1990. Outrageously sexy, with a celestial perfume of asian spices and underbrush and dried cherry. Eternal finish that tattoos itself on your tongue and palate. Medium to full-bodied, with startling freshness and grip for a quarter-centurion. La Tache 1990 will enthrall for another 30 to 50 years.

A true treat. Old. No effervescence. But has some cut and spine still. Long finish. A St. Francis hotel liquor store sticker on it. Drinking history. — 9 years ago
Sauvignon Blanc 2013 Marlborough- intense tropical fruit, passion fruit, citrus, stone fruit, and fresh cut grass notes. Light refreshing. Very springy, seafood pairing — 10 years ago

1/5. Corkage at the Nomad. Medium /light gold. Slightly viscous. On the richer end of spectrum. Dried citrus, spice, not a ton of cut left. Not quite as persistent and long as the last time a tried this. But a very fine bottle nonetheless. Drink. — 6 years ago

If it’s good enough for the queen...? Just add a stinky cheese — 6 years ago
Third red of the night, and now we are getting to the good stuff... Clear cut better than the first two bottle (which are very nice wines) just more of everything: flavor, structure, length, you name it it's got it... Would love to try again in 10 years. — 8 years ago
Old vines, new oak. Will age well, very powerful — 9 years ago
Perfect at 35K feet. Huge vanilla caramel custard favor. — 9 years ago
As far as big houses go, always been a fan of the special cuvée. This is a cut above - lots and lots of biscuit and toast, but very well integrated, bit of dried apricot and a slight tinge of bitter oxidation rounding out this one - fantastic sparkler. — 9 years ago
Very good — 10 years ago

Continuing the 2011 extravaganza with this light Spatlese. That's right! I didn't get it wrong... It's a light Spat. Too powerful and sweet to be a kabi in my opinion, but as a Spat - Glorious! The tug and pull between sugar and acid is at a deadlock. Brilliantly balanced. The nose is spicy, herbal, floral, and very typical of Egon. The palate is crystalline. Like sucking on a piece of slate that was used to cut lime, then rubbed with mango and preserved lemons. To finish, take a bite of the juiciest peach, then lick some rock salt. The finale is long, smooth, and begs for you to take another swig. Gone in no time at all! — 5 years ago
