The cork right after opening smelled like honey, green apples, and pineapple. The nose smelled of yeast and fermented pineapple immediately after opening, but now with some time more honey and less yeast with an almost marzipan-esque smell. The palate transfers through from the cork with riper pineapple, honey and a sweeter apple. The finish is a bit of dried apricot. Acidity rushes down the sides of the tongue. This is nice with my panko crusted chicken and roasted carrots. — 6 years ago

Strange nose on opening - like overripe banana. Floral. Very tight. Full bodied - a very big drink! Everything in there, but too young? Not great p/q and a bit disappointing for such a big name. May be fabulous in 10 years but not hitting the mark now. — 6 years ago

I was pleased with this. There’s a lot of cassis riding on a bed of blackberries, with some fresh raspberries and blueberries. Some leather, wood, and a little graphite, too. The tannins are low to moderate, but there’s enough acidity to balance the fruit. A good value, too. — 7 years ago
