Nice to taste a bottle before it was famous. — 7 years ago
Needed a wine worthy to celebrate a special event, a 37 year old wine! Blend, 75% Tempranillo-15% Garnacho-5% ea/Mazuelo/Graciano, aged 10 Years in Am oak! The ‘80 was sealed with wax, preserving the wine, it worked, the cork crumbled on extraction! Very light Ruby, enticing, complex aromas of juicy red fruit, earthy spices & smoke. Cherry flavors with espresso spice, vanilla, smoky oak, earthy leather & black pepper. Well balanced with very soft tannins, long delicate finish with earthy spice. A rare treat to enjoy a mature Rioja, something really special! — 8 years ago
I like this one. Es un malbec especial, se sinte picoso y alcoholico. Solo hay que dejarlo respirar un poco, ea delicioso en olor y consistencia.
Realmente de mis preferidos. — 10 years ago

John Lockwood ladies and gents, keep and eye out for his name. Blind tasting yesterday revealed 50% lovers of this wine, 50% felt it was one dimensional. I'd have to disagree... I think it's textbook Syrah. Yesterday I noted it "smells like a Pax or Arnot-Roberts Syrah" because of the white floral tones and the unmistakeable Syrah characteristics. Had a touch of EA, but I felt it made the wine more lofty, carrying other esters up from the glass. Blueberry, red currant, baked olives and a touch of cream. Standing great on day 2, EA is still there but still a positive note, not a nail polish remover, more like blueberry magic marker meets blueberry pie, brown spices- nutmeg and clove, a little walnut hull, dark chocolate. Color looks extracted, aroma's would imply the same, but its not overly so, soft yes, acidity is there but shaded by the fruit. The grapes are sustainably farmed, harvested at 23.5 Brix 100% whole cluster, gentle foot tread 1-2 times per day for a short cold soak, followed by a cool 10 day fermentation with native yeasts, pressed to barrel before dry to finish ferment, native ML. 13.7% alcohol 3.7 pH. 125 cases — 12 years ago
The 2015 quality producer reds out of; Puente Alto, Maipo, Pirque and Aconcagua are strong considerations for your cellar or temp & humidity control cabinets. The fruit is sensational and the acidity is beautiful.
The nose is ripe, ruby floral and show slightly candied fruits of; blackberries, blueberries, dark cherries, black raspberries. Some creamy raspberries, black cherry licorice/cola, dark semi-sweet soil, nice baking spices, cedar and fresh red & dark florals.
The body is gorgeous and full. The tannins are rounded, firm and gluey. The fruits are ripe, slightly candied and fresh. blackberries, blueberries, dark cherries, black raspberries, some creamy raspberries, strawberries, black cherry licorice/cola, dark, nice herbal notes, semi-sweet dark soil, dry loamy top soils, dry stems, chewy leather, lighter baking spices than the nose, cedar and fresh red & dark florals.

Cheiro alcoólico e fermentado. Cor bem bonita. Gosto com pimenta, pouco amadeirado e mais frutado. Sensacional. (: — 9 years ago

Touch of EA, touch of reduction, touch of fruit, pretty pleasant. Have 3 of these, wanted to check in. No oxidation, no tired qualities, not falling apart in the glass, nice wine 12 years later. They were selling these in the tasting room a few years ago for like $40/bottle, can't really beat it. — 8 years ago
Muy rico! Cuernavaca puente!! — 8 years ago
Inky purple. Deep plum, Asian spice, hint of soy, but still more fruit than earth. This is luscious, with really savory, mouth-watering tannins.
Disclaimer: I import this. — 10 years ago
Little funky at first but it blew off, nice earthy mushroom Pinot with red fruit and a little EA — 10 years ago
Bright cherry color, red fruit, cranberries, currants, herbal notes, hint of EA/VA, pretty decent structure for something so light in color. Good stuff from the VQA wines — 11 years ago
Great wine at a great price. 9.99 ea for a case

Hits the spot. Really beautiful, pure and bright red fruits that are perfectly ripe. High acid to match the fruit, some "leather" and a little EA. cherry fruit is starting to dry a touch. Stewed cherries. "Rusty". Alc not too high which is nice. Again, hits the nebb spot. — 11 years ago
Not expensive, like around $10/ea at bevmo 2/1, easy drinking. — 12 years ago
