A deep, full, but eminently drinkable orange Malvasia, a prime example of how rich and complex these can be. Grilled peach, persimmon, blanched almond, and a long finish that leaves you salivating for another sip. Bright acidity, but not too much, nor is it particularly funky. Love love love. — 6 years ago
I'm gonna make it real funky for you. — 8 years ago
90% Procanico the other 10% Malvasia and Chardonnay. With barrel ferment character this was a very smart wine and a surprise. Would love to get this back home. — 9 years ago
Barberani Vallesanta Orvieto Classico DOC, Umbria 2012 Grechetto, Trebbiano Procanico £7.50 Wine Society Restrained nose that has some ripe peach, melon and grape notes, a touch of white flower and hint of nut. Palate shocked slightly as I had not clocked that this was an Amabile (off dry style) Orvieto. I was expecting a rather thin acidic wine but this has obviously had some decent skin contact and residual sugar giving it a wonderful, full mouthfeel of ripe, ever so slightly sweet stone fruits with the acidity swinging in on the length making it incredibly fresh as well as luxuriant. 90pts — 10 years ago

Had the 2016, and this 17 is probably a bit better. So so good. First, it's really not as acidic as I would like. Both a good and bad thing. When enjoying lighter fare without a lot of sauce or spice, this Berganorio is a perfect match. Comprised of 30% Procanico, 30% Grechetto, 20% Malvasia, 15% Verdelho, and 5% Drupeggio, this wine is mildly acidic up front, but balanced by lighter lemon, lime and grapefruit that morphs into a wine that is more weighted and mature than expected through the middle and finish. Although the notes are always on the lighter, more tropical side, the wine doesn't ever take a thin or uninspiring side. Although I will definitely say that I don't think this one is really intended to age. Well done Velette! — 6 years ago
