Blend of 84% Cabernet, 12% Merlot, and the rest Cabernet Franc, deep Ruby with rich fruit aromas, aged for 14 months in 15% new French oak. On the palate flavors of blackberry and currants, with notes of licorice, tobacco, some floral and cedar spice. Fine tannins, long finish, ending with fruit, vanilla, oak and spice. Medium ruby , thin slightly pink ruby rim . Quite dark fruit with cassis , blackberry , grafite . On the palate quite ripe and juicy , but with good balance , slightly gritty but ripe tannins , good cassis tinged , grafite finish . Overall this shows well , with good density and juiciness , sweet but importantly with a very balanced , refreshing personality. Very profound nose which reminded me of a couple of bottles I had of clos du marquis. I said saint Julien but wasn’t sure. Blackcurrant, coffee, meat, tea... different layers. I was pretty sure at that point that it was a grand cru classé... the palate is not that wide and powerful. I thought then grand cru classé but in a small recent year. 2011 or 2013. The palate was evolving around an acid backbone with fine tannins and a lovely yet discreet fruit. Moderately long finish with fruit, coffee again and a pinch of salt. I finally went for haut marbuzet 2011. I was far away from it! Always trust a first impression. Superb nose, palate a bit under delivering when the nose raises such expectations. Overall lovely and well done. — 7 years ago

Dark ruby/ purple in color with a purplish rim.

Light nose of red fruits with chocolate notes.

Medium bodied with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate with blueberries, black plums, cooked cherries, spices, light oak, chocolates and peppercorn.

Medium finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.

This 4 year old Merlot from Saint Julien is drinking nicely now. Showing mild complexity and fruit forward.

A good quality Second Wine. Would be nice to revisit it in 3 years.

Easy drinking and good by itself or with food. Will pair nicely with BBQ Meats.

A blend of 80% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Sauvignon and 8% Petit Verdot. Aged in French oak barrels for 12 months.

13% alcohol by volume.

Soft nose of red and black fruits with light wood, spices, coffee, earth, dark chocolates, tobacco leaf and black pepper.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate with blueberries, plums, cooked cherries, dark chocolates, light oak, licorice, spices and light herbs.

Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries.

This is a very tasty 5 year old second wine from Beychevelle in Saint Julien. Elegant and spicy with lots of chocolate notes.

Showing good structure, and a good quality wine. Balanced, complex and easy drinking.

Will continue to age nicely in the next 5 to 7 years. Would be nice to revisit it in 3 years and see how it evolved.

A blend of 54% Cabernet Sauvignon, 43% Merlot and 3% Cabernet Franc. Aged for 12 months in (30% new) French oak barrels.

13.5% alcohol by volume.

Oldschool Classic at it’s best!
Surprisingly fresh in the nose with black currant leaf, a pleasant greenness, pencil shavings and a plethora of tertiary aromas.
On the palate this is rather light bodied with still quite youthful grippy tannins, juicy acidity and great length.
This is poised, has presence and really good length.
