I think these wines are out of the insanely ripe and partially botrytised zone they were in in the '05-'10 era. The new wines, are poised, fresh, but man is there still a lot of horse power under the hood. Not as squeaky clean as F.X. Pichler or Prager, and the better for it. — 10 years ago

Best domestic Grüner I've ever had. Lots of green, ripe citrus and orchard fruits, lees influence, and varietal savories (lentil, radish, parsnip, pea purée). 12.7% alcohol puts this in ripe, clean federspiel territory. Similar to Prager or FX in style. There's something special in the Columbia Gorge, I think. Anyone know if this is loess over decomposed basalt in the vineyard? — 9 years ago
