Phinney does it again with this delicious blend! Somehow managed to capture the essence of Spain. Fruit forward, great dark red fruits with a poppy and succulent mouth feel. Very clean finish low-tannins makes for a very enjoyable bottle. — 10 years ago

Day 3: Heavy mushrooms framed by sage and cedar, with chamomile and pork fat. There is persimmon, nutmeg, dried grapes, tar, dark raisin bread, tobacco leaf, and poppy seed. This thing was an unwieldy wooden baton on Saturday night; a real leather daddy. It has since opened into a lumberjack in a leather tunic felling a large birch near a meadow of scorched wildflower. He’s sweating, and lightly peppered. Grilled apple, eel skin, dried black currant, dried roses, rawhide, marinated plum, and a tart persistence that is neither graphite, or smoke, but something similar with a dry-rubbed saline-sweetness in the mix. Delicious! Took forever, and I knew it was a bad idea to open so young, but we did it! #callejo #riberadeldueronothing #riberadelduero #NoSpainNoGain #spanishwines #spanishwine #FelixCallejo #bigredwines — 7 years ago
Had it March 2009.
Turning golden colour, but not quite yet. Lemon, white peach, grapefruit, white flowers. Graphite, sulphur, white truffle, fern, dairy note, tuff rock, gunpowder, poppy seeds, sesame, coriander. Little herbal, toasty, pastry note. Full body, vertical at the same time and super long. Exceptional wine, it can still evolve. Maybe exceptional bottle❤️❤️ — 9 years ago
Very easy to drink. Light body. — 9 years ago

Poppy red, dependable and glou glou ! — 8 years ago
Dark ruby red. Fruity nose with distinct dark red fruits that come through on the pallet as well. Smooth tannins and a nice fruity finish. Good. — 8 years ago
A wall of cedar coated in turbinado crystals, sweet tea, vanilla mist, wintergreen and wildflower honey up the two-hole. Really a gorgeous array. Orange blossom honey, pine nut, rock candy, lemongrass, cocoanut, cocoa powder, soft vanilla, sweet tobacco, coffee candy, brickle notes, squash blossom, poppy flower, and the worlds most perfect raisin. As delightfully indulgent as drifting carelessly down a clean river in spring and being enveloped in an endless array of budding flora! — 9 years ago
Lemon pie and orange blossoms with lemon poppy madeleines lingering in the stratosphere. Banana bread and cedar shavings. The bourbon barrel screams from the glass. Hazelnut and pecan turn creamy vanilla pudding, pine nut, grass clippings and charred bits, with a satisfying carbon and graphite in a lemon pith middle burning a hot streak. — 9 years ago
Amazing cheap Pinot. Lexi loved it. Merlot meets Pinot. Sweet but poppy. — 10 years ago

1st vintage of close planted...poppy, black cherry, sits in the mid palate for minutes — 11 years ago
It may not be wine but it's surely not far off it. The Brewer Søren Eriksen even describes this (his) beer as "vinous". The sultana and pinot noir flavours certainly come through in addition to roasted cloves (if that can even be described as a flavour). Delicious! — 12 years ago
This was really good (had a clean perfumey flowers after taste but was not at all watery) was 14 bucks though — 12 years ago
