Papillon 2014 Orin Swift! Of coarse its amazing, its Orin Swift. I changed the rating four times!!!!!!!! Super opaque cab blend! Bouquet is raspberry tart! The initial palate is black cherry, blackberry, boysenberry bliss. There is a spice that kicks in along with a tart tang that tingles the tip of your tongue and numbs the roof of your palate. Oak and tobacco cone to play in the taste next along with a dark chocolate spice! Yummy!!!!! Along with the bouquet the sip doesn’t last long enough so I must have another sip. It is moderately dry. Where is my steak????? — 9 years ago
This is dark and capable of impressive range. Black fruits, red fruits, spice and oak all play a role but not at once. Excellent balance and intensity; absurd Sogrape nonsense name. I think it's worth it. — 10 years ago
A delicious Syrah. Matured from the wine I drank at the winery. Opened nicely and drank smoothly. — 10 years ago
Excellent Merlot - full of flavor — 10 years ago
Tangerine, mandarin orange, honeysuckle and B vitamin play on the nose. Medium bodied and with zippy acidity to cut through its almost peachy, citric sweetness. Yummy. Apparently this was a mad dash to get done in this particular year due to a sudden cold snap that caused the grapes to ripen so suddenly they were in danger of bursting. — 10 years ago
Pale yellow color with plentiful active tiny bubbles and marzipan, almond, pear, subtle citrus and a hint of smoke aromas. On the palate, it's refined, lively and fresh with a delicate creamy mousse, and apricot, apples, pear and lemon curd flavors dominate but hints of grapefruit, black currant and an appealing smoky minerality play in the background. Long finish. Cuvee 2011 Disgorged 2014. 40% Chardonnay, 40% Pinot Noir, 20% Pinot Meunier 5% of wines matured in oak cask with weekly battonage - 10% of reserve wines matured in casks. Partial ML. Assemblage of 6 vintages from 40 different plots. Matured 3 years in cellar and 6 mo after disgorgement. Dosage between 10 adn 11 g/L. My favorite under $40 Champagne! — 11 years ago
Loved learning about the role hummingbirds play in the development of this wine's grapes. — 11 years ago
Omg. Still in play 22 years later. — 11 years ago
Another exceptional #Bordeaux value play! — 12 years ago

Classic B-flat Barolo - meaning it sings in the best key, it's easy to drink and it hits all the right notes - a crescendo of tar and tart fruit, backed by lightly percussive tannins. I got one more bottle, so I can play this tune again later. — 9 years ago
Juicy pears, petrol and wet slate all up in my hizzie. Another great pair for my wife's ham loaf, with fruit and off-dry sweetness to play against the salty porkaliciousness. This should keep getting better with age too, but drinking extremely well now! — 10 years ago
An absolute baby. Notes of menthol, blueberry pie, and fine grain leather on the nose. The palate is wound tight; under ripe blackberry, dark chocolate covered cherry, black currant, and minerals play pinball across your mouth. Finishes with serious grip and mouth drying tannins; some mellow oak surfaces. A peppery heat softens to a pleasing lingering aftertaste. So much in there to come out with age. — 10 years ago

Great. Ended up liking the 2010 and 2011 petite Syrah just a little better on this trip. 2011 petite Syrah was my favorite today. All delicious. — 11 years ago
When a wine finally has its moment. Have visited @wieninger's 2009 Nussberg Alte Reben Wiener Gemischter Satz for three years hoping for it to crack open and gush forth with giving fruit, minerals, textural play. It has. It's ready, folks! #wienerwein — 11 years ago
Light body....not too heavy — 12 years ago
Oh so tasty. Oh so interesting also oh so I wish I had a brick of Brie to eat with. This could use more time. 7 years? Child’s play for a big wine line this. There are tannins galore, and the leather and earth and blood need at least another year. But I’m still so into this Cornas. Would love to taste their...2005. Ever date someone and it is not the right time for either but...that’s this. I’m sure if I am not going steady with another Cornas in five years I will have a night of passion with this one. — 8 years ago

Another above-the-fold headline scoop from "Superman's Pal"! This is a dense, jammy blend with slimy smooth body. The rich dark cherry, red raspberry, and black currant flavors balance nicely. It works well as an after-dinner digestive wine. — 9 years ago
Old world style from California central coast. The nose is redolent of Luxardo cherries and Antica Formula vermouth. On the palate, there is a battle between fruit and earth; deep, earthy forest flavors are offset by bright, tart spring cherries. Coastal botanicals play against wild fruit. Better than expected. — 10 years ago
Bam! Pouring rain in Sonoma, bowl of tortilla soup and this. Thank you Dan for mixing grapes that play nice — 10 years ago
Love this wine, Jeffrey from Pairings wine shop had this paired with Chili so I took it home and made some to try. Fantastic, great grape, rich with fruit and a slight sweetness to play off the spiciness of the chili. Plum, tobacco, zest of grapefruit, blackberry — 10 years ago
This is an exceptional Merlot and a great value. Tasted against the Knarley Head and Menage a Trois Merlots and it was every bit as good as they were. All three showed well, but based on price the Mut Lynch is a big, rich winner! — 10 years ago
The 2008 didn't play around!!! — 11 years ago
This wine is best served candlelit, during a hurricane or power outage, after you can no longer play cards with your family. — 11 years ago
Mushroom, forest floor on opening. 20 min after opening more red fruit, a bit of vanilla oak coming into play. TASTY — 12 years ago
My vitamin of choice last night 1995 @YarraYering Dry Red No.1 Perfumed, elegant, acid driven. #FilthyOldVino Opulent, juicy red fruit holds it on the knife's edge from being a shade green. Intriguing play on texture, flavour and balance #YarraValley #Wine #Cabernet For more Filthy Old Vino head to http://filthygoodvino.com/from-the-cellar/ — 12 years ago

Back with more recent tasting of the 09 Carhartt. Only getting better, and aging gracefully. Bordeaux in style, 22 months in French oak, well balanced with earth tones, black fruit, and a 30 second finish. UP from last rating! — 8 years ago
