Ermitage du Pic Saint Loup

Cuvée St. Agnes Languedoc Rouge Red Rhone Blend 2014

Nicely aged blend, enjoyed in 2025.
Syrah most prevalent, opened up well once allowed to breathe.

Very approachable and seamless. Dark fruits, iron, terracotta, citrus. Chapoutier always delivers serious wines. — 7 months ago

Les Meysonniers Crozes-Hermitage Syrah

Riktigt fint vin. Lamm eller nöt och någon syrlig sås såsom bearnaise är en perfekt kombo. En fransk favorit. Värd pengarna. — 6 years ago

Domaine de l'Hortus

Grande Cuvée Pic Saint Loup Red Rhone Blend 2015

Incredibly powerful black currant from the start. I get a bit of herb and smoked meat after a while. Violet then raw licorice all the way taste wise. — 7 years ago

Chante - Alouette Hermitage Blanc Marsanne 2019

I can’t get over this wine! The first word that comes to mind is luscious!! Ripe peaches and pear, smoke, pineapple, chamomile, tree bark and limestone. I need a case and now I can’t find it - should’ve bought more!!! — 6 months ago

La Bernardine Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhone Blend 2011

75% Grenache, 15% Syrah, 10% Mourvèdre —a total stunner she is, drinkable now with a body to go the difference. The nose brings red fruits (plums, cherries, strawberries) and roses and rose petals. The palate is silky-smooth, fresh fruit giving way to tootsie roll and stewed fruit flavors, augmented by earth and sanguine balsamic grooves, a bit of herbal garrigue carrying the day. The finish carries on, persistent and solidly ethereal if we can make that a thing. — 8 months ago

Domaine de Bila-Haut Côtes du Roussillon Villages Grenach Blend 2017

Ruby burgundy color. Jammy and fruit forward with berries and some spice. Smoky and a hint of umami. Rhubarb and strawberry. Tart cherry pies. Nice acidity with a hint of wet rubber or something in the palate. A tasty and unique southern red. — 6 years ago

Château Puech-Haut

La Closerie du Pic Syrah Blend 2015

Aroma on this one is much more subtle on the fruit instead embracing dessert flavors of vanilla, chocolate, and butterscotch (maybe a subtle hint of diacetyl). Some oak aromas ground out the deserts. Lots of cocoa on the palette and with mild subdued tannins and a light acidity on the finish. — 6 months ago
