Bing! Just delicious. A Phillipe Cambie wine. — 8 years ago
Winner of the night!! Hands down!! Had it an hour in the decanter (should go longer), and it just opened up nicely, as you can tell by the empty glass. Phillipe Melka is at his best with Brand. I need to hide the rest of these from myself for another 6 years. Balanced, beautiful color and a great finish. — 8 years ago
Phillipe at his best. Awesome wine showing structure, elegance, and layers on the nose. — 9 years ago
2007 Domaine Phillipe & Vincent Jaboulet Cornas - fat texture, deep purple richness of smoke meats, dried fig, dates and black cherry. Developed nicely over 3 hours. My favorite paring with the Osso Buco tonight. Drink now or hold for another 6 years. Yum! — 9 years ago
One of my favorites from cdp. Bright and beautiful and perfect with and Provençal meal and quite affordable. I only ranked a little bit lower because the Gaston Phillipe old vines blows the tradition rouge away. — 10 years ago
The most affordable cab that Phillipe Melka makes. Absolutely amazing. — 11 years ago

Super rich and ripe with perhaps a touch of botrytis. Very unusual to taste a SB this ripe but then 2009 was a screaming hot vintage. — 11 years ago
A wonderful tasting put on by Classic Wine Storage featuring Long Shadows Winery. If you aren’t familiar with these wines, they are phenomenal WA state wines that are made by the likes of Randy Dunn, Phillipe Melka, Michel Rolland, John DuVall, and more.
Supposedly this is the number one Riesling in WA state. Dry style. Petrol on the nose. Honey, apricot, bright acidity with a slate finish. — 7 years ago
Wonderful Bourdeaux type blend from Chile. This is one of the top wines produced by this Country. It is a joint venture between Baron Phillipe Rothschild who also owns Mouton Rothschild in France; and Viña Concha y Toro from Chile.
The Wine maker, Michel Friou, is French with extensive experience including stints at Chateau Margaux and the other top Wine maker in Chile: Casa Lapostolle, which is owned by the Grand Marnier family in France. There he was in charge of blending their top Cuvée, Clos Apalta.
The 2009 Almaviva, is a powerful red which is well balanced with subtle hints of graphite, chocolate and tobacco. The fruity component reminds me of black cherries. Tannins are present but mild. — 8 years ago

Very nice aromatics, citrus. With our pizza at Zuni. — 11 years ago
Very good. With properly mature aromas of lanolin, waxy yellow fruit, white mushroom. Tasting only moderately sweet. Should have been ideal with homemade crab quiche, but was just, meh. — 11 years ago
Phillipe Melkas 1st vintage (i think?) of this st emillion grand cru classe. Earthy funky had some power to it. No cab sav in this one but but drinks like its there. Intense blackberry, dusty leather and scorched earth. At 7 years old this was still young and tannic as double hockey sticks. Fun to drink but sorta wish id waited another 7 years — 7 years ago
Gun Bun does it again. Always shocked with how great their wines are for the money. Wines I believe are still being made by Keith Emerson. Cakebread, Martin Ray alum and cohort of Phillipe Melka. With how long these wines have been around, I still consider them an insider’s find. Under $20 a bottle. — 7 years ago
Great balance, perfect midday snack. — 8 years ago

Dominant Sangiovese with some cab and a splash of Syrah. Rich style sangio wine. Sweet oak, dirty cherries, herbs, and a high percentage/bitter dark chocolate. — 7 years ago
