Incredible concentration and power (esp for the $$) Quite raw. Needs 5+ years for tannin, acid and alc to settle down a bit. — 7 years ago
Drink now. It's perfectly aged. — 8 years ago
One of my favorite dinners was on the menu here at Chez Skip - cassoulet! And my knowledge of wine pairing is as sophisticated as a toddler eating spaghetti, I said to myself - hey I am eating French food and I like this French wine, so hey why not? And that was that. But as wine can be, it evoked its memory of when I had it first. I remember sitting out in the patio and being impressed with it. I thought to myself I could really enjoy French wines, but as history has shown, that was clearly a short lived notion.
Knowing it had been some time, I had an odd feeling, so I checked my Delectable history. Indeed, this was the very first wine I had rated!
So, to my friends, do you remember your first wine on here? Was it anything memorable? @philip Angino @Martin A. Pale Ruby. Amazing intensity on nose and palate for such a pale coloured wine. Sweet AND Savoury with mushroom and Beetroot notes. Loved this wine - delicious and different with a nod to Burgundy. Philip Murphy is the son of Dan Murphy whose name is famous for being the largest wine retailer in Australia. The liquor chain is owned by Woolworths, Dan died in 2001 and Philip went off with his inheritance after many court battles never having cordial relationships with Dan who was 83 when he died. — 9 years ago

Named for the three respective wives of the friends making this wine in 2001.
Jose and Marie Conde, Tyrell and Annette Myburgh, and Philip and Nicky Myburgh.
Bosstok is an untrellised bush vine, predominating their vineyard, growing close to the ground, producing lower yields of concentrated and flavorful grapes.
Elegant medium body, red berry and spice hints.

Funky little wine.. super interesting on the nose.. pressed with the stems so really earthy in the palate. Great value at $60 — 8 years ago
Exceeded my expectations. Likely will continue to improve. Thanks to @Philip Carpenter for the hookup on this. — 8 years ago
Still just a baby, tightly wound with showing mineral/graphite notes as the longer it decants the fruit starts to show on the finish. Great aging potential. — 8 years ago
Very nice drinking now — 9 years ago
Nice pair with steaks on a Tuesday night while @Philip Carpenter was waxing poetic on the virtues or Santa Barbara County during a Twitter wine chat. Join in to #WineStudio next Tuesday at 6pm PST to connect with Dan Kessler of Kessler-Haak and with Mr Tercero himself, Larry Schaffer, at the same time on Feb 23rd. — 9 years ago
Our favorite Virginia winery! — 7 years ago
Stunning Friday night steak wine - 2008 drinking really well with good balance of fruit from Merlot and the tannin and earthiness from the Franc — 8 years ago
Money. Killer. Rad. Channeling my inner @Philip Carpenter who also totally loves these wines. Jaffurs is the poster child of consistency in winemaking, and Verna's is always a powerful tapestry. Super opaque, almost black purple, very ripe/rich black &blue fruits, some lavender, and roasted meats. Pedal to the metal, jump on board and enjoy the ride (now channeling my inner @Bill Bender!). — 8 years ago
01 Togni wouldn't hurt to have another decade on it. — 9 years ago
A very flavorful Malbec with a dark Ruby color, medium body with hints of berries. I like it! — 9 years ago
