Aged in all new American oak, this shows a gorgeous bouquet from blueberry pie to espresso grounds, graphite and toasty oak tones that all impress. The palate is deep and utterly seamless. A massive core of blue and dark fruits collide with white pepper, minerals, firm tannins and a light dusting of salinity. While obviously big, this has a weightless quality and wonderful verve. From 72 year old Grenache vines in the Old McDonald vineyard in McLaren Vale. Steve Pannells winemaking touch still evident with excellent material - a great combination. — 3 years ago

Popped and poured into a decanter about 90min prior to service. The 2013 Eclipse pours a deep ruby with a transparent core; medium+ viscosity with faint staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with red and black brambles, leather, black pepper and other spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and hard to hate on. Yes, it is an enormous wine and yet, somehow balanced at 16%. To this day, the wines from Noon remain elusive. Drink now through 2028. — a year ago

Seductive nose of blueberry, cassis, cedar, dark roasted coffee bean,, nutmeg, peppery spice, touch of barnyard, and hint of tobacco. Probably the most harmonious palate I’ve had in an Aussie Shiraz. The oak and alcohol are totally integrated, with ample acidity and soft elegant tannins. Powerful and graceful.
