Last fall, I had the distinct pleasure of tasting a wine from AnneSanti for the first time. On that occasion, it was the Rosso, served blind. It ended up being one of the more memorable wines of 2020! On this occasion, I was presented with the Bianco (not blind). The wine was very light in color. On the nose, minerals, linen, chamomile, white flowers, stony, citrus and honey. On the palate, I found it to be quite brisk but in a very good way with light stone fruits and citrus notes. There was really nice persistent acid with a long, mineral driven finish that worked so well with the smoked trout. This is a fantastic aperitivo. I want this wine outdoors on a warm day with Gabin, dZihan & Kamien and Gotan Project playing in the background accompanied by light Mediterranean fare and, most importantly, some good mates. Overall, having now tasted two wines from this producer, I am eager to try them all. — 4 years ago
The nose was dark and beautiful, showing spiced cherry, plum, dried orange, and crushed violets. On the palate, I found tart black fruits, inner floral and herbal tones, with energizing acidity matched by fine tannin. It finished intensely structured on dark fruits, undergrowth and hints of ash. This needs time, but I’m already loving it. #collisioni17 — 8 years ago
Orange wine tasted at Maltby St. Super. — 9 years ago
Eyes: Light + to Medium bodied. Ruby / purple core trailing slightly to the edge of the glass.
Bouquet: Plum, violet with hints of cooked meat, spice, hard raspberry candy and clay.
Palate: Medium bodied with a round, elegant mouth feel. Notes of plum, cherry and flowers are carried by medium acidity and polished tannins. Despite carrying 14.5% ABV, there is absolutely nothing out of place here with the entire drinking experience being harmonious and pure. The length on the finish sails for minutes.
Conclusion: Add this wine to the great Tuscan Merlots like those from Tua Rita, Petrolo and Ornellaia at a savings of at least 30% per bottle. Superb now, this will reward 7 to 10 years of cellar time if you can wait. — 11 years ago

Strawberry, red currant, clay - ya know, that stuff... 🙂🍓🥀 — 8 years ago
Wonderfully unique and funky wine with that intangible Italian style. Wild yeasts, black fruits, black tea, & leather aromas/ flavors. Perfectly balanced, great length, really savory. This benefits even further with food. — 9 years ago

Tonight I am enjoying the 2018 Torrione Petrolo Val D'Arno Di Sopra Petraviva Rosso. Super Tuscan from Bucine, Italy. A blend of 80% Sangiovese, 15% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon.
On the nose we have blackberry, cherry, black olive, anise, dried roses, cedar, tobacco, leather and earth.
On rhe palate is red cherry, raspberry, blackberry, red currant, cassis, wild herbs, spice, pencil shavings and earth.
This wine is full bodied supple and very delicious medium + to high acidity and medium + to high firm sandy mouthcoating tannins that leave you with a long red and black fruit herbaceous finish. A new week again is upon us with many new and exciting challenges. Lets meet these challenges head on and make it a fruitful experience. Please stay safe and healthy and enjoy the week.
