This comes from monopole called La Batailliere that is a part of premier cru Aux Vergelesses. Little more tannic and austere with fruit juice being darker in color. Bitter notes dominate making this a very pleasurable experience of this particular terroir. — 5 years ago
Good tannin, fruit and spice. Almost N Rhone like. Delicious. — 7 years ago

I am looking for another bottle of this! — 8 years ago
2011. Nice side by side of two Javillier reds - I liked this one a touch better. This one had more complexity on the nose with some cherry pie spice, potpourri, cinnamon, and cola.. Dark fruit and a touch of earth on the palate.. Quite a nice bottle actually for the price. — 9 years ago

A bottle I had a couple of years ago was much more expressive than this one. This needed aggressive swirling and lots of air to coax the aromatics. The palate had a nice core of cherry fruit that became more apparent the more air it received. — 6 years ago
I loved this wine!! It would be my house white - if only Vincent would export it. He only sells this to restaurants. I went to visit him and came away empty-handed because of no shipping. C'est dommage! — 7 years ago
Still a bit tight, but good balance of citrus, mineral and oak. I love this style of burgundy — 7 years ago
So rich, balanced, but the amount of oak is a little over-powering. — 8 years ago

Rustic and complex, super good . — 9 years ago
A little sister to the corton Charlemagne. The rollin family always offer superior value for the price. — 5 years ago
Aromas of sour cherry, mushrooms, great mouth feel and accompanies food very nicely. — 6 years ago
14 December 2016. Vine Wine, Brooklyn, NY. — 7 years ago
Light bodied, really nice bouquet and the tannins grip. I wonder if this wouldn't have benefitted from a few years aging. To me, the only thing missing is that silky feel in your mouth. — 8 years ago
Red cherry, sweet spice, cloves, vanilla. A little rough tannins, medium acidity. Might be better after a little decanting — 8 years ago
Color is a bit pale, almost looks like aging wine, but the taste proves the opposite—extremely light, open, drinkable bottle. Lots of oak, cherry and tobacco. Tannic, but in a pleasant way. I wouldn't like this wine on any other day, but tonight it turned out to be the perfect choice for lighter Burgundy. — 9 years ago
11 Pernand Dubreuil "Berthet": cool, crisp aroma of berry , menthol and touch of animaux. Palate screams Cote de Beaune w lithe sinewy light weight body supported w firm tannins. Well structured, flavour intensity sufficient. — 10 years ago
