Double decanted by Kobari-san and it opened up fully just as the penultimate course of buta kakuni was served. Paired so well w the rich fatty pork and the duck dipping sauce of the soba finale. Beautiful flowery scents of magnolia and lilies lingering even after when the glass had been drained. Clean, precise fruit on the palate. Drank at Honmura An, Roppongi JPY 10,500. — 9 years ago

Penultimate bottle of a half case. The first bottle was initially very disappointing, particularly given the vintage, but that impression fades with patience. It's tempting to think this is a few years too late, but interestingly the more air this takes on, the more fruit shows itself to balance the formidable tannins.
