Alexis Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon 2002

Welcome to Dr Todd's Wine Bar once again. Tonight we are tasting Elizabeth and Clarke Swanson's 2002 Alexis from Oakville Estates in Napa Valley. It is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Syrah. The cork has a 3mm ring that is well defined. The legs are 4 seconds. The boquet is that of ripe plums. the initial palate is blackberry currant. There is no tanic boquet or taste. The finish is minimally dry, spicy and tantelizing tonthe roof of the mouth. The middle edges of the toungue are tingling. This is very very very good wine!!! I will try and contact the wine makers and order a case of this beautiful wine! It is strange to find a rosé with the power this one has. It tastes like the right thing, not a crappy thing created to sell just a color. I had it with sushi and maybe it wasn't the perfect combination since its taste was overcoming the taste of the meal, I ended up waiting to finish the meal in order to keep drinking.
