Oh mygosh on a scale of one to pastille heaven I might rate this as an eight point nine plus, a few bonus unofficial point stops in a swamp of bramble and raspberry bush. A ripe swamp.,Love it. It could be I am a gamay nut but I dug this heartily. If I were eating steak? Oh no. Not even with a soy sauce-braised tempeh extravaganza. But for sipping, with a pal, with-let me recommend---a nice soft pretzel (welcome to my heavenly LA life) and YAS. That's the stuff — 8 years ago

2008 vintage still has lots of life. Nice grip from the tannins, earth and dark fruit. Great flavor. — 9 years ago

Two days before my wedding. Drinking with James. Delicious. — 12 years ago
Petrol and earth, spice and earth more prominent than fruit on nose. Good tannin and high acid, would shine with fatty meat. Not at all Californian but in a good way (to me). — 6 years ago
From start to finish just a great tasting wine, fruit in the beginning pepper at the end, I would buy a case now if I could. — 7 years ago
Top end Faugeres in excellent shape, though still a good 6-8 years from its peak. Just returning from a dumb phase and heavy with blackberries, pumbs, pepper, and hints of leather and oak (though not too much). Glad I bought a few cases of this from them at the Fête de Bacchus back in 2009. — 7 years ago
Light ruby color with some purple and brown mixed tone. Just a tiny hazy and essentially clear. Nose of sour cherries, berries like raspberries, and a bit cedar. Taste of refreshing acidic raspberry, sour cherries , spice like sage/clove, cola, and some roasted peppers note. Light but balanced. Aftertaste is a bit weak, dominated by the spice note, roasted pepper, a bit cola, and hickory note. Quite an interesting Bordeaux. — 8 years ago
I'd drink that. — 9 years ago

100% single vineyard Merlot. Dark burgundy in color, smell of tobacco, dried fig, dried dates, cacao, dark berries and spice, still tannic, needed more air, but is already approachable, a common trait of 2009. It is a bold wine with a long finish. — 11 years ago
Still young but very drinkable Meursault @ £53 that’s one of my favourites at this price point 😉 If you like it more tart/sour now is great but leave 5yrs if you want it to ease 👍

Very good vintage for this wine. One of my favourite from the Fete this year. Elegant yet dense, with blackberries (and leaf), black plumb skins, and fine black pepper on the nose. Good acidity and robust tannins (a positive thing). Will drink well now or from 4-5 years. — 7 years ago

Just drank a châteauneuf du Pape without knowing. What a beautiful surprise. One of the top 5 wine of my life. Balanced, medium bodied and very tasteful. Incredible! — 8 years ago

Lingonberries, strawberries, leather and wooden tones. Impressive clarity of flavour. Like an autumn day in the woods bottled for my enjoyment. — 10 years ago
Wendie had this at French Louie in Brooklyn. Not too spicy and sweet but not too dry. — 10 years ago

Quite a nice Beaujolais from an appellation I quite like. Medium red in the glass, lots of cherry on the nose. Light bodied - could actually use a bit more. But a nice pairing and a solid wine for sure. — 5 years ago
