Really on point. Brett and vegetal quality actually find great balance in this challenging vintage. Perhaps a function of better fruit making it to the pavilion. Either way I imagine this is what most young Bordeaux tasted like pre-1980s. — 9 years ago

Tasted Feb 1st wine night as our surprise wine. (Others were 98 pavilion rouge, 05 bahans haut brion and 00 Leoville Barton. Cost £33 but was many peoples favourite. Drinking well now. Will keep too. — 12 years ago

The Pavilion Rouge de Margaux 1998 was a stacked little powerhouse of a wine. Great color, here too a it had a deep ruby robe. A very solid effort here that held its own adding it's Margaux-ness to the flight with some added oomph and pop from some firmer than expected tannin, offset by rich and perfumed dark red fruits, smoke, toast and subtle spice. — 9 years ago

A good simple, slight sweet wine, friendly, nothing to compare with the Puttonyos range, you can drink more than one glass before sugar kicks in - Disznoko means "the rock of the wild boar", and this distinctive rock is to be found at the foot of the white pavilion overlooking the vineyards — 11 years ago
