The nose to this is different to the only two other vintages I've seen of this. Insanely ripe; blackcurrant, pomegranate molasses, musk, candied cherry and gojis. Relatively gentle tannin for Langhe Neb but there's a juicy supporting acid. At first I was in ore of this wine but it's been less impressive as time has gone by, yet still very enjoyable — 8 years ago
Chiar bun, mai ales după 2 ore la aerat. — 9 years ago
Such a neat wine. Crushed red currant, aspirin, black tea, iron ore. Edgy tannin matched by lengthy acid. Reminds a lot of Aglianico. — 10 years ago
Tiny, sauntering bubbles. Crispy citrus with a gentle nutty center and touch of iron ore on the finish. Excellent! — 8 years ago
The nose starts off a bit shy and subdued with bitter cherry, red raspberry and cassis fruit with just a smudge of earthy mineral. It opens with air but remains elegant and pretty. Floral and iron ore minerality become noticeable. Had those regal, austere Sangiovese tannins with cranberry and bitter cherry fruit. A supple floral element mixed with earthier base tones. Continues to be focused, supple and elegant. — 8 years ago
Vibrant and long. Dry. Tropical ore. — 8 years ago
One of the better in the under $20 Oregon Pinot category I've tasted of late, the 2014 Pike Road is an off shoot winery managed by the Elk Cove team. Replete with twiggy black tea notes, rose petals, cranberry compote, iron ore and dried blood, it's clean and linear on the palate, more red fruited than black, with bright acidity that dwindles to a slightly herbaceous, rustic finish of fresh bark dust, spice, and mulch. I would love to revisit this after its had another decade to develop, the 2012 Yves Cuilleron L'Amarybelle is classic Saint-Joseph, with complex layers that unfurl at a leisurely pace, revealing notes of blackberries, balsamic, damp tilth, incense, bay leaf, pink peppercorn, and violets. On entry, the initial impression is one of silkiness—a bit deceiving, because there is ample power and persistence on the finish, and a burst of acidity followed by masculine tones of iron ore, garrigue and spice. 12.5% ABV — 9 years ago
100% new oak (no american)
Deeper with a great depth of blue & black fruits an iron ore mineral note, bit like a used red leather purse with bright red lipstick. Very plush in the mouth with rich, spiced black fruit, plush tannin and a long black fruited finish. — 10 years ago
Wines I bring when visiting the boyfriend—as a chef he has a real passion for game meats, so seemed like a good choice. Brooding plums, black cherries, and grilled meat form the base of the profile. Add to this a dusting of earth and iron ore followed by lighter notes of anise and violet. Medium-bodied with muscular, chewy tannins, aging in concrete has graced this Gigondas with texture and trace minerality. Drinking well now. 14.0% ABV — 8 years ago

In ferie da quattro ore. E vaffanculo. — 9 years ago
Light nose for a St Joseph with a hint of grilled meat. Pretty fresh and an initial taste of fruits and iron ore. — 10 years ago

E buono ma non e speciale alla ore stessa. Ci sarebbe un altro piu buono mercato come ginsen New Zealand Marborough Sauvgnion Blanc. Ma sono felice di abere cercato i vini locali a Seattle. Vorrei studiare piu. — 7 years ago
