Fresh blackberries, blueberry compote, violets, black currants, white pepper, mint, dried thyme, balsamic. Sharp-balanced acid/gripping rough velvet tannin balance, juicy texture, medium-full body, long juicy-smoky-earthy finish. Highly aromatic, persistent complex tannin presence, inky purple goodness. — 6 years ago
Dark and earthy, perfect for all the mushroom, celery root, pork and butter at Flour+Water. — 5 years ago
So fresh. I could drink lots of this. Kinda like a pinot. Layers of red fruit, rose petals, tea, pepper, and some earthiness on the nose. Remarkable length and acid. Happy to have tried this.
Notes: Olek Bondonio. Obscure variety from one of the great crus of Barbaresco. Four rows of Pelaverga planted in the 1980's, in the Roncagliette vineyard. — 6 years ago
I thought this was the weakest of the Nebb during the night. Having said that, it was pure and balanced. Just lacking the stuffing of the others around it. Would drink it anyday!
NB: This is a declassified Barbaresco Straderi because Olek was in trouble with cash flow while finishing the construction of the new cellar; he decided to release this gem one year earlier! Long maceration in cement, aged in a large slavonian botte. — 4 years ago

Right on opening: black tea, sweet wood spice, black & red cherry, cardamom, rose water/ petal.
Palate: black cherry, wood spice, red currents, black tea tannin. Can't wait for this to unfurl!
Air time: red cherry, pot pourri, amaro herbs, marzipan ( doesn’t overshadow ), rose water, black cherry, black tea
Palate: all the above, with the marzipan riding through in background & fine black tea tannin on the close. Excellent. Still plenty of life ahead. — 4 months ago
