Deep amber color with thin legs. Pronounced aromas and flavors of Madagascar Vanilla, licorice, hazelnut, banana, dried figs, fruitcake, and plum wine. Gorgeous tawny color. Aromas of nail varnish, cherry liquor, vanilla bean, coconut, hazelnut, brandy, quince, and dried fig. Mouthfeel is voluptuous. Sublime and as mellow as any Scotch Ive ever tasted. Persistent, smoky and delicate nose to finish. Color looks more like Anejo tequila. Nose: vanilla, profound smoke, peat, earth and a simplicity and completeness that belies its complexity and depth. The most symmetric spirit I've ever tasted. I would hesitate to call this smoky (but I'm a lagavulin/lafroig drinker). It's more grainy and bready, with some dried golden fruit. Really tasty bottle. Almost Irish in style. — 11 years ago
