Stunning 90% Sangiovese! Not a super tuscan like many other reviews tell you! This is an awesome old school producer who bailed out of the Italian system. Hence he cannot call his wines Chianti. Very elegant and plenty of cherry 🍒 notes left. To bad it cost so much. From Max Kogod in North San Diego county. — 8 years ago
Old school - charming - took a moment to show — 9 years ago

Beautifully aromatic. Classic tar and roses in an old school, ethereal Barolo — 11 years ago
In a great drinking window now with an easy 5 more years to go. Old school aromas and flavors of stems, peppercorns, meat, and crushed blueberries with a good old school funk. #pegau #chateuneuf — 11 years ago
Really good Zin. Went perfect with grilled food. — 7 years ago
Popped 1 of my 3 bottles to celebrate two friends turning 50 at Factory Kitchen. 50 year old California Cab with finesse, balance, and though I wouldn't expect it to improve over time, it was fantastic and quintessential old school cab from without a doubt one of my favorite California producers. Just lovely! — 10 years ago
Funky old school Barolo . Drink now — 10 years ago
Old school as they come! This reserva is a benchmark for those wanting to hone in on Rioja. 10 years of aging has muted the fruit of sour cherry and pomegranate skins and secondary aromas are dominant with cedar, coconut flan and dill. — 10 years ago

Beautiful old school cab.....perfectly balanced, velvety smooth — 7 years ago
Wow. This is young, and the nose is a bit of dark red berry suffusing a sea of resolving American Oak. The American oak is so pronounced that, had I tasted this blind, I might have taken it for Ridge... :) This has decades ahead, even if -only- a Riserva. Like La Rioja Alta 904, a fantastic value in old school Rioja... — 8 years ago
Old school Napa Cab at its best in the hand of Steve Matthiasson. — 8 years ago
Crisp and tart, interesting enough to have alone as dessert with a little dark chocolate. My favorite rose so far — 9 years ago
For the price it was great. — 9 years ago
1985. Tasting this was like sitting next to a WWII vet on a train...some respect for an old school gentleman...they don't make wines like this any more: herbal, pencil shavings, cigar, tea, lots of acid, grainy tannins, light body, refreshing...let's bring cab like this back! — 10 years ago
Challis Lane was smooth and refined. Great for the price! — 11 years ago
