Beautiful drinking now at 29 years old. Supple, soft with plenty of fruit. Long rich finish. Drinks well now but will hold there for the couple years. — 9 years ago

I had this one laying around for a while thinking it was too old to drink. I never had an incentive to open it especially considering the vintage. I expected to pour this down the drain and was I ever wrong! Loads of fresh fruit and the age has softened any hard edges. Very pleasantly surprised — 10 years ago
Rarely do I enjoy Russian River Chardonnay like this. Not obtrusive oak use, delicate, nuanced, and fresh. — 11 years ago
Amazing wine from @Robert Mackie's cellar, looking forward to sharing the bottle we brought back with my old man... Rivals any of the best Cali cabs out there! — 11 years ago

Dry, very smooth, quite good with C's spinach and chive linguine dish — 10 years ago
Big bold and beautiful. The bouquet flies out of the glass. My little brother introduced to Gamba and loved it since. The 2011 Starr Road brings everything black in fruit. Black cherry, blackberry, black raspberry and even a little bit of black currant. Mellow tannins give a lasting finish that slides down like liquid silk. — 11 years ago

Very nice flavor with strong fruit but not overwhelming. Little bit of spice, but fairly good balance overall slightly biased towards fruit side. Finish is medium long but not very tannic or acidic — 8 years ago
Perfect with bbq chicken — 9 years ago
From 90 years old, almost ancient vines this winner shows what true Zinfandel is all about; fruit packed and big, but with a freshness present that is balancing the wine throughout. The intense flavor and broad midpalate is embracing the 15,3 % alcohol which is barley being noticed, unless you drink to much of course..
