This is one of the handful of vintages that benefit from new investments to the crush pad and grape processing areas. This 2009 vintage gives a soft texture and bright inviting acidity that makes it more generous earlier in life. The espresso, new leather, and tobacco leaf all carry through until the finish. — 11 years ago

This is a very non/technical review. I pick up hints of the crush pad at harvest, as well as the barrel room just after fermentation. Definitely dark fruit. The color is fantastic in the glass. I taste grape jelly, cinnamon, a little coffee as well as some earthiness. The tannins are well behaved making this wine an excellent bottle of wine. I do think it will be even better in 10 years!
