Top year 904 @ Β£75 that was drank in Zalto burg glass as its like an aged burgundy
π½ Paired w/ Iberian Ham π
π· Garnet ruby w/ brick
π Smoked burnt oak, soggy earthy leaves, leather, dark cherry & figs w/ balsamic & damson
π Med body of creamy stewed cherry w/ earthy balsamic & slight mocha
π― Med finish of above w/ earthy balsamic linger
Reaching peak but I preferred the 95 904 over this but the 890 94 was better than the 95! β 9 years ago

Our go to summer wine β 13 years ago
This yellow-gold wine rings the βold-style Caliβ bell in all the right ways. A nose of apricots, mangoes and apples is helped along with the smell of buttered popcorn. Oak treats the palate as well, draping over the tropical fruit like a sunshade. The acidity is zesty, yet the mouthfeel tends toward creaminess due to the wine sitting on the lees for five months. The oak is a definite part of the wine, but the effect is softened enough so that it's a pleasure, not a pain. β 7 years ago
Paired well with a lamb, eggplant purΓ©e, fava beans, piquolo pepper. Would also pair with a medium rare magret duck or other game. β 11 years ago

Rich, thick, smooth, just yummy!!! A smoky essence that was surprising. Had it with grilled chicken and tomatillo salsa. Divine. would be awesome with a steak or lamb. 8/10/18 β 8 years ago

Another last of its kind wine as the San Mateo moved to Alesia label after this vintage. This young blend is really singing right now with bright red fruit and cedar spice and well balanced acidity. A candidate for short term aging, but the freshness of the fruit really shines now. β 7 years ago
