Crisp, slight tart, hint of pear, perfect for Indian summer day, pairing with seafood , in gentrified neighborhood, while viewing the Washington park after leisurely urban bike ride, As the streetcar dings by… — 9 years ago
San Giacomo has some of the best vineyards for Pinot, and Ram's Gate hits it out of the park with this one! — 10 years ago
Out of magnum, 2010, in the park, 80 degrees, life's good. Med acid, soft yellow fruits, slight nuttiness. — 10 years ago
Full bodied red blend. We enjoyed it with our lasagna dinner. High alcohol content! Better after letting it breathe for some time. Bought from Winestore at park west. — 11 years ago
A wonderful port - too bad it's all gone! — 11 years ago
This red knocks it out of the park. Best old school, earthy, Italian style red I've had in years. — 11 years ago
Tawny desert wine. Fermented almost to the point of having a whiskey taste — 12 years ago
This is the 2016 and it Devine. Had to open every bottle until they were gone. If you see it drink buy it. It’s a hidden gem for $12 — 8 years ago
Had at Joan's in the Park. Really enjoyed it. — 9 years ago
This was my contribution to the happy hour. Having never had it, it was recommended by one of the employees at Wine Watch and they hit it out of the park. Absolutely gorgeous. Amazing fruit, long finish, great complexity and left me wanting more. — 9 years ago

Our second wine from urban winery Broc Cellars in Berkeley. Counoise is an obscure blending grape from the Southern Rhone. A bit of a cypher showing ripe and underripe fruit like tart cranberry and sweet cherry. Sweet soil character with a hint of ancho chile and vanilla. — 10 years ago
Quite tasty!

Frescobaldi // bought at urban market place in Inman Park. Very nice! — 13 years ago
Another view of the potential future urban winery site for Scholium Project in LA. Don’t let the graffiti fool you, as a world class restaurant is building a home across the street. As for the wine, I prefer Abe’s Syrahs to the Petits. This was also consumed en Solo Cup, and the Babylon has typically been a bit too ripe for me. — 8 years ago

Great fruit and balance Nice richness, hint of piñata Carada and orange blossom — 9 years ago
Blackberry and plum, some licorice and dried herbs. Not a bad King Valley Shiraz. Probably has a couple years left in it max. — 10 years ago
Vintage after vintage Arnot-Roberts hits it out of the park. Closest thing to Northern Rhône you'll find outside of France, which makes its low $30s price quite the bargain. The 2013 is ready drinking well, but certainly has the acid and structure to last for a decade or more. — 10 years ago

Drew knocks it out of the park. Bright California fruited but elegant structure. The weight and balance is incredible. — 11 years ago
First taste of pepper more than I typically like, but a very good wine. Bought at Urban Grub. — 11 years ago
Rolando Herrera is brilliant! For being mostly a Chard, Cab and Pinot producer; he really nailed it out of the park. Goes fantastic with oysters and good friends!!! — 11 years ago
Good. Had it at urban wine company. — 13 years ago

What an incredible second day here in Napa. Jesus started us off with an amazing tasting at Davies/Schramsberg, Crocker & Starr gave us our cab franc fix, Montagu & Addax put on a double tasting, and Hourglass knocked it out of the park at the end of the day! I won’t post each wine we tasted, but I’ll highlight the best from each spot.
@jesus g was a killer host. He opened up some older sparklers to compare against new releases as well as poured some very impressive JDavies reds, including the Diamond Mtn Cab. This JSchram Reserve ‘08 though was on a different level. Honeyed almond, apricot, lemon curd. Texture and acidity were seductive at 10yrs old. Happy to have one tucked away for the foreseeable future. Legit, @jesus g ! — 8 years ago
