First red from Black Ankle. Garnet red with a dark core. Slightly stinky attack on the nose followed by some dark cocoa and nutmeg. Undertones of dark fruits. Moderate tannins (5.5/10) with a medium body. Dark cocoa and cherries on the palate with some good acidity and backbone. Long slightly dry finish. Drink till 2019. Very interesting Label actually says 11/12/13. — 9 years ago

Let it breathe 1st. If not, it will taste a little too acidic. Once aired, it is light and refreshing with just a hint of sweet. — 9 years ago

Aging beautifully! Still loads of currant and lavender. Add a touch of iodine and some more black fruit, mix with lean tannins and fine acidity. Here is to Maryland wines! — 7 years ago
