Perfect with carnitas tacos! Love this wine. — 11 years ago
Old Calabria is number one on my personal travel books top list, wrote by that British genius who was Norman Douglas. Now this is the optimum wine to pair with such a reading: rarity, daring, intensity... only to mention few of the features we'got stated in here. Name of the wine's: 'A Vita - La Vite, The Vine in Calabrian dialect in harmony with The Life/La Vita as well - it focuses from the start the insane complexity and discloses the fleeing of the whole subject in itself! Had with bone in ribeye, buttermilk Mac and cheese, and salad with blue cheese after decorating the Christmas tree. Acidy at first but opens nicely! — 12 years ago

Lots of oak on the nose right off the bat, but halfway through the bottle this hits it's stride and never looks back. Mind boggling. — 10 years ago
Bright red fruit flavors with lush tannin. This wine can enjoyed on its own, with friends, on a sunny day. Or with rich duck confit and bbq'd red meats. Can't beat the price. -wine batman — 10 years ago

Delicious and clean - never pretentious — 11 years ago

I got plum, blackberry, leather and cinnamon right off. This also had an excellent finish, very non-tannic and smooth. I will definitely get more of this. Everyone dug it! — 11 years ago
Nice complexity and fruit that is somewhat more acidic than expected for a Shiraz but works really well and with a smooth finish — 11 years ago
What a great treat to try. Thanks Norman for the awesomeness. — 12 years ago
Amazing light Pinot Noir. Not woody and dark. Very fresh light and slightly fruity..creamy smoothy goodness. Great for a lunch time wine. — 13 years ago
Young and bright high tone fruit. Acidity a bit over the top in first day. Second day the wine calmed down and showed some beautiful fruit, earth and blackened pepper notes. — 9 years ago
Not too strong, and it has good flavor. I enjoyed it! — 9 years ago
This is excellent. I'm always leary about trying something new but I have to say this one put a smile on my face with the first sip. Full body with a dark red color. The main thing I smell and taste is cherry. Happy Friday! It's been a long busy week. 🍷😉 — 10 years ago

Isaac Pirolo
Founded in 1969 by two rocket scientists, ZD takes its name not only from its founders, Norman de Leuze and Gino Zepponi, but also from the engineering term Zero Defects. Sleek in its design, but with serious thrust, comparisons could be made to Corison or Montelena Estate, as well as some Left Bank Châteaux. Tart cranberry, cherry, and plum abound with purity, followed by 70% cacao, fresh pine, and damp cedar. Some secondary coconut oil adds a slightly exotic feel to an otherwise old school, savory-styled Napa Cab. Excellent. 93+ — 8 years ago
