Delectable - this is actually the Mamertino where the grapes come from near Messina. Big oak barrels used so little oak influence. Will finish off this note with more time. 66 weeks later found more time! The grape Nocera typical of Messina - a prolific producer. Soft tannins and velvety palate like Merlot. Light bodied dry and savoury. Apparently liked by Julius Caesar. — 9 years ago

Nocera chose it. It's ok. Even the Korean guy us not convinced — 11 years ago
Deep pink. Sexy, aromatic nose of redcurrant, red cherry, rhubarb and white flowers. Then very spicy, with precise floral and saline nuances to the fruit-driven flavors. Finishes with excellent clarity and cut and a savory quality. Made from 10 to 80 year old vines of Nerello Mascalese, Nerello Cappuccio, and Nocera grown at 250-300 meters above sea level. WOTN! Blend of several indigenous Sicilian grapes (50% Nerello Mascalese, 20% Nerello Cappucio, 20% Nocera, 10% other indigenous varietals) from vineyards right off the Straights of Messina. Not an Etna wine, but embraces if not surpasses the Burgundian qualities many high end Sicilian wines approach. Tremendous acid balance and tannin integration that can only come from precise wine making. Very deep but funky mushroom, red fruit, forest floor, and slightly brett nose. On the palate tremendous fruit quality tastes of red berries, peach, and floral notes end up giving way to herbaceous and leather undertones. Again, thanks @Kyle Harvey for lugging this across the world for the summit! — 9 years ago

3.3. Delicious, fruity but smooth Italian red. 2014. On sale for $18.99, regularly $21.99. — 9 years ago
Still catching up with my Sicilian notes and this was a cracking Wine - one of the highlights for me. A red blend of Nerello Mascalese, Nerello Cappucio (60%) plus Nocero and Nero d’Avola. Funky savoury brilliant aromas. The 2 Nerellos much like Pinot Noir. Light to medium bodied, sappy, dry and delicious. Could be a Grand Or Premier Cru Burgundy 160 Hectares DOC; 7 producers in total. Buy some! — 9 years ago
This bottle was a great lesson in temperature control, initially over chilled, this 60/30/10 Alicante/Nocera/Nero D'Avola blend really blossomed as it got a touch less cool, nice balsamic and mineral notes. — 10 years ago
