A savory juicy textured herbal food pairing champ. Like cooking sous-vide with an immersion circulator, what was once a geeky oddity has found a permanent home on our table. Not a universal solution, but really the right tool for the job in certain situations. Like pan seared halibut with fennel or spring vegetable risotto. — 7 years ago
Had to open another bottle as the tannic structure in the last one was so striking. Decanted for the bulk of the day as this was tight & tannic for several hours. The decant is the key as it is now a pleasure of smoky red fruit & light herbal quality. Will check back on these in a few years. Serious stuff. — 10 years ago

Who says cheap wine can't be good? Smoothe, balanced, and potent without turning you off. Definitely a staple for standard wine! — 10 years ago

Reasonably priced in Pennsylvania. Good drinkable wine if you like fuller bodied reds. Will be getting a couple more bottles. — 11 years ago

Plum licorice nose. Dark red. Cherry 🍒, touch of licorice and raspberry. A profound Bourgogne from an excellent vintage which tastes like a Premier Cru. Excellent and a great value. From the Meritage in Encinitas. Drink now or keep for 4 years give or take. — 8 years ago
Blind tasted. So confusing and delicious. Need More. Want more. — 9 years ago
Nutty, orange rind, and chocolate. M+ acid and M sweetness. M+ intensity. On the palate, raisin, dried fruit, cherry, caramel and orange. Long finish. — 10 years ago

Good zin! Yummy! — 8 years ago
I love this wine. I love this wine because it exists all the way at the 'painstakingly clean and precise' end of the skin-contact spectrum. Don't get me wrong, I love the super-natty wild and wooly and of the spectrum too. But this. This is so purely and exactly what it sets out to be. And I love it. — 9 years ago
