eye level gravel with my hands dirty, nine pm, fifteen years, give or take, we wanted to carry, hold eachother, push, scared of what's to come and the 'what to do', i once told you, whispers, humming bird, beak-heart, "i would love to fast forward", and now, cliche on cliche, i just want to speak to you and imagine the 'what to do', clean hands at nine pm — 9 years ago
The first Galante I ever had was this vintage, 2003, Blackjack Cab. I was hooked. Nine years later and it still pulls me in. The years have mellowed the wine and given it more depth, but the telltale pepper and leather nose still makes me swoon even before the spicy and mineral concoction hits my mouth. The finish is smoother now leaving pleasant clove, cinnamon and mineral notes. The leather and pepper predominate throughout, though. What a treat. — 10 years ago

Refreshing red, spicy fruit. Good mouth feel. Exciting spicy red nose with chorizo overtones, and a moderately long finish. Lovely food wine. — 8 years ago
Good example of a California take on the classic Bordeaux style. Dark overripe berries are prominent. Can't detect much of anything else as far as wood/spice or earthy/mineral aromas. — 9 years ago
Really good---nice surprise!!! — 10 years ago

Sipping Fine Wine
Tried a Sample and bought a bottle. In 1989, Melville Vineyards, was founded in Sonoma, where Ron Melville grew high quality, Chard, Merlot, and Cab Sauv. In 1996, Ron's desire to grow Pinot Noir brought Melville Vineyards to Lompoc's Sta. Rita Hills, in Santa Barbara County. Ruby with aromas of sweet red fruits and vivid spice. Flavors of raspberry and strawberry, currant like, adding cinnamon and leathery notes. Fine tannins, lingering ending with nice mouthfeel bringing back fruit and subtle spice. Nice! — 6 years ago
