Toffee and maple aromas stand out in this Colheita. Flavours of biscuit and toasted pecan emerge thereafter. The finish is vaguely like vanilla. — 6 years ago

Very shy and closed when I tasted it. Feel like I didn't get a proper feel for the wine. — 9 years ago

Quite lovely on our first night in Portugal for the wife’s birthday! Scored 2 points higher due to the sleeping gentleman in the picture :) #firstfamilyvacation — 7 years ago
Douro Valley....I am coming for you on Friday. On day 2 this is the real deal. Day 1 was tight on the palate with good aromatics. On day 2 the palate was expansive and impeccably balanced. Blueberry, raspberry, spice and schiste minerality fan out at a good pace and ate persist through a long finish. 13.5 abv this retains excellent freshness and a mildly racy acidity. #niepoort #douro — 10 years ago

One of the great Douro wines, took over by Dirk Niepoort - resulting in an elegant and balanced wine, with nice concentration and character but also freshness, making this wine really friendly and a sure value to open with winelover friends - Morgadio da Calçada Reserva is a selection of the best grapes from Provezendearea, in order to produce a complex wine, maintaining the typical freshness and balance. This is the 4th edition of this wine with Touriga Franca and Tinta Roriz being the main varieties. 😄👏

Requested to drive up to my good buddies house to help him move his 8ft sheet metal brake to fashion some temporary gutters in advance of hurricane Henri, I was rewarded with wine, of course! — 4 years ago
