Testalonga or “long face” is legendary Italian orange wine producer Perrinos nickname. Baby Bandito is Chenin from 46 year old vines in granite soil. Whole cluster, unfiltered. A beautiful gold colour with a delightful nose of baked pineapple, honeysuckle and marzipan. Perfectly balanced with a surprising palate of peaches, pomelo and honey. Italy’s hard. There are too damn many esoteric grapes and regions to sort out, and often sold at a premium. But for big, intense and fruit-forward wines, Brunello di Montalcino is worth the extra cash on a special ocassion. Montalcino is a hilltop village in Tuscany, Brunello is the local nickname for sangiovese grapes grown there.
