That sweet maltiness and funkiness work well together! Also 9.5% woah — 8 years ago
Love Russian River 🍇! Mineral & Golden Apple. Hint of lemon zest.
Vanilla on the nose. — 8 years ago
Considering it's age, this is drinking incredibly well. If you like the big, buttery Cali-styled Chardonnay, then this is for you. A lot of oak on this one. The nose is a dead give away to what you will experience; a fairly full-bodied wine with sweet butter, apricot, pear, honey, and brioche flavors. Incredible. — 9 years ago

Nice Rutherford Cab from the people of Far Niente and Nickel & Nickel. Rich dark fruit and lingering silky tannins. — 10 years ago
How does a merlot get any better!? — 10 years ago
Excellent, drank 10/27/13 with steaks on the grill. — 12 years ago
I really enjoyed this wine; 30 minutes in a decanter did a remarkable job mellowing the tannins. Otherwise, an excellent, classic, but tannic Napa cab. — 4 years ago
Aromatic, charred red bell pepper. Extracted, dark, serious. — 6 years ago
Frank had 3/17/18. Very good and rich — 8 years ago
Glad I aged this bad boy. Delicious. Drinking beautifully now. — 8 years ago
Enjoyable tasting event with Far Niente wines tonight. I've had a few Nickel & Nickel, but never any of Far Niente's own wines.
Too young! But what a treat. I can see this going up a few points once its had time to develop. Aromatic in a big way...blackberries, blueberries and spice on the nose. Cedar, smoked meat, toasted oak, blueberries on the palate and a nice lingering finish. — 9 years ago

Minerals and hint of mint on the nose. Oak, minerals and fruit (mostly lemon) on the palette. — 6 years ago
Very well aged! 2005 Sori Bricco mountain grape opened on 1/3/18! Solid structure, dark fruits, medium tannins, and maturity. Not past its prime! — 8 years ago
Silky smooth merlot. — 8 years ago
On the nose, dark minerals, muted dark currants, fresh & dry dark florals, violets, dark cherries, strawberries and red licorice. On the palate; ripe bright fruits on first entry, lean & soft tannin structure, dry crushed rock powder, volcanic minerals, notes of a woody quality, leather & underbrush. Lean & ripe; dark cherries, cherries, blackberries, black raspberries, raspberries, touch of graphite, nice acidity, good structure with a beautiful, long finish. Barrel tasted the 2016 vintage at the Nickel & Nickel Entrecôte. Photos of look as you walk up out of their cellar and the old Nickel & Nickel truck. I'm not a vintage car expert but it looks like it comes from the later 1920's — 9 years ago

Always happy with the Nickel family wines. This wine showed very well. The fruit was surprisingly fresh and vibrant for the vintage. — 12 years ago
