Fresh off a Cabernet #KWN, and inspired by Neyer, what the heck, let's open a cab blend. Blackberry jam and a ton of pepper. Medium-bodied. A long, mouth-puckering finish, albeit a bit medicinal. The Merlot and Petit Verdot really soften this up nicely. However, the 20% Shiraz totally overpowers the 60% Cab. This is a really well made wine (though even at Costco you're paying a premium for the name). But if I wanted a Syrah, I'd open a Syrah. I don't think that flaw can, nor should, be overlooked. — 9 years ago
