Kicking back letting the local tunes adjust my attitude with wine:30 showing on the clock she strolls in my direction digging the slow roll Hendrix spinning left then twisting right dressed in deep purple clinging and flowing interestingly crimson along her rim and edges back to casually claret whispering that she's from a small chateau hanging on the right bank of the Gironde near Arveyres. Offering her hand, I accept pulling her in close then a slow spin and a slower twirl she comes close bathed in the essence of blackberry and spice, young but ripe, wet earthy slowly working her way to a first kiss dripping then gripping, pulling tightly then going soft and silky still clinging while working her way deeper. I close my eyes, Hendrix stops and she's gone. A distant guitar string bends an unknown player. I spot her by the bar, her colors waving in the breeze of a lazy fan I reach out take her firmly by the neck, then lower bending her gently back then spinning her my way, she again engages, her essence lingering in my memory, we dance on as the tunes continue their spin. Later, when we are both done I figure she's likely a fine Merlot brightened by Cab Franc having found her way through new French oak nestled by the river, intelligently nuanced well worth the dance and cost is not an issue...

So tasty! Sweet, with a hint of spice and a really lovely berry flavour at the end. Organic and vegan to boot! What more could I want in a red?! So glad I decided to take a chance and try something new! — 9 years ago

Soter's 2012 Mineral Springs 'White Label' Pinot Noir has a rather unique story in that it is crafted from an unidentified "heirloom" clone. Who cares what the clone is, the results are spectacular. The perfect combination of concentration and finesse, the nose is a romp through a damp and earthy forest glen, fields of lavender, and then to the market, to find juicy blackberries and blueberries at their peak. Equally lush, almost brooding on the palate, with underlying layers of minerality and spice. Pinot reserved for the white label is aged 12 months on 50% new French oak, with 30 days extended maceration and minimal racking. 14.0% ABV — 10 years ago
I got a taste of this from Ed Dewitt while also working the same market. Quite a beautiful nose, with silky tannins, black cherry and fresh herbs. A touch of graphite too. New venture, very small production. — 10 years ago

Had at Front Porch Market and Grill in The Plains on 12/10/16 with Gary. — 9 years ago
Deep Ruby with a youthful purple tinge. Primary fresh plum and cherry on nose and palate. Earth and spice developing with savoury notes. Built for the long haul but like all great wines good when young and excellent when old. Only 290 dozen made from vines planted in 1879. Sold out long ago but would love to acquire more on the auction market. Destined for greatness and a long life. — 9 years ago
A new wine for me from an ancient and dying region in Portugal. In favor of beach homes and development, the old timers that tended the vines in this region are selling their property as its pretty hard to market and sell these wines. A sad state of affairs especially for what I tasted here. Thank you @TJ Maxwell for the introduction! — 9 years ago

Dry and refreshing! Bought from world market — 10 years ago
Great example of new world Pinot noir. Nose is strawberry, cloves and a little vanilla. Complex taste with vibrant flavors of strawberry, cranberry and orange zest, cherries, bit of sweet chocolate or marshmellow even. Balenced acidity with a good finish. Medium body and very drinkable. Great go to wine at the super market. Cheers — 10 years ago
If you are looking for a reasonable Shiraz that is complex, drinkable, consistent and exceptional value there is nothing better on the market right now for under 15 bucks. A real find. — 10 years ago
Purchased at Fresh Market. Excellent. — 12 years ago
So good! Ripe juicy cherries and strawberries with a hint of spice, like Christmas. Medium-light body. So juicy it almost has a hint of sweetness, like eating the first strawberry of summer at your local farmers market. A little heavy for summer drinking but will be perfect for cool fall weather. — 8 years ago
Recomended by the wine steward at central market. She was spot on a $17 very drinkable Pinot from new winery in Oregon. — 8 years ago
Smells like caramel apple pie and tastes like banana bread and butterscotch. Full of classic New England warmth. Love it. Got this at Boston Public Market and will buy some more to set aside. — 9 years ago
My first (and only in the UK market). Stunning. Australian, apera cast. Colour & flavour intensity is insane for 3yrs old.
If you enjoy high end Speyside or Japanese whisky as I do....find this. Very special. Fantastic in an old fashioned — 9 years ago
Proof that good French Rose from Provence doesn't have to break the bank or spend ludicrous amounts of marketing money. Nice pale pink with that classic ocean air, crushed cranberry, red berry citrusy nose. Light & dry on the palate. Total summer into late fall Rose for $10! I would be glad to promote this wine under my new brand "The Big Fat Guido" while I grow a man braid. Should out sell the leading 750ml wine cooler rose out on the cash grab Rose market. — 9 years ago
I tasted this new (2014) vintage a couple months ago, and gave it a 91. It's a definite improvement over the 2013, which was decent, but the tannins were a bit too angular IMO. The 2014 package is new, but it looks like they had some "old" label and capsule stock to run out. No worries, the wine is good and the new packaging will eventually be out in the market. This is a gem and should be consumed in copious quantities. So this rating is higher. Deal with it. — 10 years ago
Very good! — 10 years ago
16.5/20 — 10 years ago
Really nice, a great wine very refreshing and balanced!!

This one confused everyone in the blind. I wanted to call it a GSM blend from rhone(it even has some of that funky wet wool of brettanomyces and leathery animal smells characteristic of syrah). Ive never seen these things in a Malbec yet and I suspect this was the case more often before globalizing their market. Less new oak than I am used to as well. Heck it's not even purple.
That said...
Dried black cherries and blackberries on the nose here, not much fruit, smoky leathery slightly Brett slightly funky nose. Dried dark brambly wild berry smells.
Taste comes through as dark tobacco cocoa leathered hide with berries similar to the nose. Tannins a pretty solid medium along with acid and alcohol too.
While this doesn't quite fit my general expectations of a malbec, it is growing on me. Heck by the bottom of this 2nd glass I might even prefer it. — 8 years ago
