Since @Keith Crump opened a Rio Sordo I took out a Rabaja (thanks Keith for inspiring me 😁). It just kept me coming back for more. I adore those type of wines that suddenly make me forget about being "concious" what I'm drinking and make me realise it's just good! — 7 years ago
At first I wasn't sure about this but after letting it air out a bit it's pretty good. Has scents of raspberry and cherry. Medium body. Very fruity taste. Paired it with stuffed chicken Marsala. I'm still trying to figure out a Barolo wine. This is my second but much better than the first! — 8 years ago
Nice cherry notes with earthy tones. Striking acidity. Good wine! — 9 years ago
From the great 2001 vintage. This vineyard is on the flatter country by the river where the soils are sandy. Slightly stinky nose - Fleshy palate. Great length. The full Nebbiolo package. A privilege. This was a fitting final wine in the Italian wine and Food Tour organised by Peter Scudamore-Smith MW and his wife Denise. Peter's contacts with the wineries and his depth of knowledge is exemplary. Together with the restaurants (a WOW List) and accommodation Peter and Denise provided an experience which exceeded expectations. We will be taking their Sicily trip in the next few years. Highly recommended to all Wine and Food lovers. Also this 2001 Rio Sordo was from the Produttori del Barbaresco. — 10 years ago
Authentic, original and stately. Refreshingly old-school in midst of the current hipster nano grower/producer scene. — 10 years ago

Classic cucumbers, lychee, pear, cold smoke, lime pith, light guava core. On the palate, soft on entry, but dragging a desert dry backbone over diatomaceous sands on a steely chain, til orange-lime citrus twists to lemon that jumps from the glass with a nano dusting of white pepper. — 6 years ago
Rust showing on the rim... Crunchy red berry with hints of VA. Evergreen pine scent and a sultry black cherry round. Chi tea spice and ginger round out the nose. Fresh palate with juicy cherry transitions into mocha flavors. Finishes dry and with a delicious factor. With air this becomes more oxidative. Drink now. — 7 years ago
Smooth, delicious — 7 years ago
Really nice. Should definitely decant for at least an hour, could easily use more. Great earth, solid acid that keeps it refreshing, and still surprisingly persistent tannins. Overall very nice. Had at Babbo. — 9 years ago

Tangerine honey, grapefruit sugar, with peonies, the most perfect, spun cotton candy, chamomile, pear and apple and almond and hazelnut, chutney, and toast with a nano marmalade containing frozen peaches. The exquisite peach blossom honey, chamomile, sultanas, elderberry, gooseberry, quince, dried starfruit and lime. Incredibly layered in folds of dried and concentrated richness. #riesling #deutschewein #wein #beerenauslese #dessertwine #botrytis — 5 years ago
